I am in the hospital. Should be out Tuesday. I had a heart attack diving yesterday. They are putting a stint in tomorrow. You haven't seen the last of my posts yet!

I'm glad youre well enough to write us all and sort of stay in the game. Hopefully this all works out and youre out soon, doing what you love again. Looking forward to hearing more.of your good hunts and good deeds. You seem like a good man to have around. With that said I hope youd be ok hearing a little constructive criticism. I too have exemplified some risky behavior in the past, i.e. exploring weird lonely places by myself, climbing in some rather treacherous places alone, poking around where who knows who or what might be hiding with not the best intent. I'm not as wreckless as I used to be. I already had a life threatening kayak accident about a decade ago that made me curb my adventurousness to a degree. But who am I kidding, I still occasionally do some stupid doo-doo that could not ens well. Less than 48hrs ago I did this to myself clearing debris after swilling a little too much hard cider (photo). I kept at it until after dark burning stuff and tripped over a pile in the dark. Duhhh! Apparently there was a nail or something. The crusty look is from Liquid Bandage. So....I thought, what if it went into the back of my head or in my eye or ear? My wife was like, "You'd better watch it. Someday youll get yourself in a BAD SITUATION, the way you do stuff." Well, maybe wifey is right. And Scuba, I have to say, when I read your accounts of some of your lone hunts, dives and adventures, I was like...jeez! I daresay, this guy is worse than me...and he's also gonna get himself in a bad situation eventually. Well... Now you know I'm not some couch potato with offhand opinions about others. Ive been there and I'm not a hypocrite. Maybe, just maybe...a little modification of how we get our jollies wouldnt hurt.

3 years ago I went spelunking in a cave in W.V. and had my first anxiety attack. I thought it was my first heart attack and it scared the dung out of me thinking that was happening 200ft underground 20 miles from the nearest hospital. I saw my doc as soon as I got back to P.A.. He was yoda and figured out immediately what actually happened. Im on meds for my anxiety now, and it mostly keeps me from wigging out but Ive still had a few episodes. Now I wonder, if I really have a heart attack someday am I going to mistake it for an anxiety attack now?? I didnt get anxiety from being in a cave. I love caves. But my doc said the whopping majority of his anxiety patients have their attacks at the tail end of a vacation which is exactly what happened in my case.

I'm just hoping, with respect to your adventurous Spirit which I can certainly relate to... that maybe this should be considered a wake-up call of sorts and I'll leave you to figure out the details for yourself.

Good luck and get well soon!

Wish you the best Robert, the heart is not an easy organ to heal. My wife had heart issues after the birth of our second child (our last). He is now almost 5, and she is STILL recovering. Time to take care of YOU, instead of everyone else for a change. If there's anything we can do, be sure to let us know!

Ok, GKL, your editing skills have the perfect time to shine. Can you make a virtual "get well" card with all the comments on this thread? That would, you know, HEYYY wait a second, scuba can see this! Anyway, you get the point GKL. It'll just be neat.

Scuba imagine that you never saw this...

Well, repeating the comments would be redundant, but I'll see if I can come up with a get well pic that is funny to help cheer him up during recovery, don't have time to do it right now and don't want to rush it, so maybe by this evening if not sooner. Good idea though Josh, thanks !

Many members here hoping you have a quick and complete recovery Robert !

Hope this animated get well card will cheer you up a little during recovery,
but don't laugh too hard if it would hurt to do so
