Tha Knife Thread

These are the knives I've found metal detecting (plus things I've found at the same times). I found the last couple just in the last few days, so I though it would be a good time to post them.

Awesome stuff!

Wow what amazing knives. I've always liked them too. I got a swiss army knife for my 11th birthday and still have it and it's one of my favorite birthday gifts. I remember always looking through the service merchandise catalogs when I was little and spending time checking out the knife and gun sections. Great collection guys!

Posted this elsewhere on the site, but this feels more like home ...

Knife and pipe thingy

The kids and I went on a hiking trail with my eldest daughter and her husband and baby yesterday afternoon. My daughter had told me in no uncertain terms not to bring along the detector, so I did the next best thing, and kept my eyes peeled for eyeball finds!

On the way back, I spotted these objects near a bench at a scenic overlook. I showed my daughter and her husband, and told them I thought the smaller object was some sort of tire gauge or something, and they started to snicker! They told me what it is, but I'm not sure if they're pulling my leg?? :?:

Alright, I found another. I didn't even think about posting it at the time. I don't find many rings, but I seem to find plenty of knives. That's fine because I collect and make them.

And this is the good side.

Hi, I'm also a knife nut.... 3rd one from the left was eyeballed in a parking lot, a gerber appelgate fairbairn, pretty pricey. Others were bought, and sit in a cigar box on the bedroom dresser...... some from flea markets, some from a friend who's a knife dealer. I have plenty of others, one old buck lockback (ranger?) and fixed blade, both get beat on while camping, hunting, fishing and take the abuse well. I'm tough on knives, so cheap ones don't make it a day. The knife-dealer friend sometimes looks like he's gonna burst into tears when he asks about a knife he sold me a few weeks before, and when I show it to him, it looks like it was run over a few times, lol. I'm like a test pilot, I had a pricey and pretty Spyderco destroyed in no time flat. I don't buy them anymore...........:D

Couple of multi-tools, too- they come in handy cause they keep ya from doing things with a knife that a person should be doing with tools - screw driving, prying, and such. Also have a couple Case commemeratives, but they never get outta their tins. Bunch more floating around the house.:snapoutofit: I have knife issues, I guess.

The tiny damascus knife I bought about a week ago, from a custom maker...... Cost a hefty chunk of change, but it's my first and last custom knife, I figured after wanting one for 25+ years, what the heck. Copy of the design from the show "Deadwood".

Still looking to find my first knife MDing. I bet along lake shores would be good.......... hmmmmmmmmm.

Great knives all of you have posted! And hats off to those who make em' themselves:shock: something I still want to try myself, maybe when the ground is frozen would be a good time to try my hand at it..

WOW, that's awesome! Here I never wanted to say much about that fact that I LOVE knives. I carry one (well two - if you count the Smith&Wesson tactical knife in my boot) and have eyeballed a couple and dug a couple. Maybe I should post them here as well. Great pics from everyone, amazing how many some of you have found...

Cool! Show us your stuff!:D

Holy Cow, nice knives guys!!! My Uncle & Father are custom knife builders. I grew up building with them and still build a couple a year to have some male-bonding time with them. I figured I would share my latest build. It was about 16" in total length, just traded it for $1k in tattoo work. Flat Ground Rain-Drop Damascus Blade, Curly Narra handle, copper & fiber spacers, w/ nickel silver guard & buttcap.

I just love all the knives.

This is such a great post.

I started it hopping something like this would

happen.

It just turned into a wonderful meal for the eyes.

One of my favorites it the two bladed, bone handle.

I think Howeys hand made knives are awsome.

Just too much, I love them all.

But I hope to see more,

Tabdog
