Minelab Manticore

It plainly says "2 Year Limited Warranty".

I agree.
I did a little more research, and all the other online vendors taking pre-orders for the Manticore that I could find, are stating a 3 year warranty. So I believe this is either a typo, or perhaps their own, unique store policy. Its certainly something very important to watch for, for anyone pre-ordering. GET THE 3 YEAR WARRANTY!

You ever try returning something to a vendor for replacement/warranty? You have to go through the manufacturer. If you used to use the big box store and a detector arrived broken/defective it went straight to the manufacturer. I got a detector once with a defective screen. Sent it in brand new to the manufacturer and it got lost. After three months and a lot of round and round i finally got a refund from the big box store. Maybe they changed though?

Yes, I agree.
Retuning items is a pain in the rear.

Looks to me like its just an eq with more power running to the coil with a couple tweaks. If this is true then Manticore2 will be coming out once sales slump

That's a cool feature, but not a new one. The original Target Trace on the CTX could do that as well.

I had the CTX and it could do this as well, but I never found it useful as on a target in the ground it would look the same as a trash smear. Like how a bottle cap will give off both a low ferrous on the edges & a high conductive.

It is a very good feature to have, in fact a very important one when looking for good ferrous targets, just to give an example in my case the bimetalic coins issued here in Mexico are detected in the ferrous range by nature so with a machine that discriminates all ferrous targets you will pass them and never knew you walked by them.

With the FE discrimination range the 3030 has I can unblock the screen area where those coins beep and still have hidden the FE range of nails, most of the iron, bottlecaps etc, truly a good advantage and with the Manticore being able to do that as well i'm excited for it, specially since its a full kilogram or 2.2 lbs lighter than the CTX. :D

The 1,2 and 5 peso coin are ignored, on some machines. The Equinox for example can be hunted with the horseshoe mode on, then these coins can be heard. However, so can all the iron, and the equinox does not have the ability to decipher the difference between the coins and a nail.

I will be interested to see how the Manticore treats these coins. I don't really want to dig the 1&2 pesos. But I would dig every 5 peso if the machine can separate it.

Where do you hunt>>>PM me. HH

rumor has it that minelab was going with this name for the Manticore since it was going to be an upgrade to the Nox 800. Not a bad name when compared to the Manticore.

In a previous video he shows the Nox 800 blowing away the D2 also. Can you really believe any of these testers?

No it's like the one trying to teach people how to detect beaches by watching people like Gigs vids and thinking they know what all the nuances of the effects of beach detecting is all about from a back yard. It's called "The dumbing down of newbies".

Nothing twerks my mind more than these videos that you know are aimed at taking advantage of the unknowing people new to the hobby. It happened to me many years ago and I still carry the chip on my shoulder. It is why I get so bent when I see someone doing it just to sell detectors.
