Traveling on horseback is great because they can carry a lot of gear to make life comfortable. I?m not out to rough it because the outdoors is where I live. This is no weekend outing. Another positive on horseback riding is that the horse is a grazing animal and other animals sense this. You can see much more animals from the saddle. You don?t have to watch where you are walking and you have a high view.
It is hard to learn to pack. There is a lot to learn and little literature on the subject. Traditional packing doesn?t work so much for the long-term packer.
I have a large array of electronics including a Mac laptop, Metal detector, game boy, ham radio, shortwave receiver, alpha smart word processor, camcorder, digital camera, mp3 player, DVD player, electric LED lighting, infrared burglar alarm, water bilge, with fiber optic lights, Xenon lights and radio controlled turn signals on the horses. I also have a radar detector and two-way radios along with a cell phone. I also carry a telescope, microscope, fiddle, silver flute, harmonicas, poker machine and color television for entertainment.
Electronics is a hobby and I also entertain backpackers in the wilderness. There is a movement against horses in the backcountry so I educate many on the benefits of horseback riding. Hungry hikers warm up to a big diner and full breakfast, and love a movie at night after their long stay in the wilds. Once they ride a horse, they are normally hooked
Thanks for your support! I plan on riding to Florida. There is the Florida Trail that is 1000 miles long. I also want to visit Disney World, see sea shells, alligators, chiggers and SCUBA dive sink holes! When I get there, you are welcomed to ride along to learn about packing. I have a system to load a horse with 200 pounds of gear in 36 seconds, which is the fastest in the world. Professional packers take about 20 minutes.
This picture is of the house we rented in Las Vegas. Story is on the website.
