What does everyone do for a living?

I work private security. But actually I've done a bit of this and that over the years. After the great devorce in the 1980's I left the country and went to Thailand. I caught the travel bug there ( but only the travel bug...nothing else) (:-) Came home, went to work for temp services and saved money to travel again. Micronesia in The SOuth Pacific, Australia, then England, Turkey, Greece, and back home again. Plan to stay in the country now and continue to work part time after I retire this coming year.

I am a secretary and mother of two daughters, 9 and 14. I'm an avid history buff and new to detecting. I "surprised" my fiancee by bringing home a detector (I'd been hiding it in the trunk of my car for 2 weeks:tumble: ). My fiancee is an executive chef in a French restaurant. We detect together and really enjoy it. I look forward to getting a second detector (since fiancee has now pretty much taken over this machine) and then a 3rd, since my 9 year old has shown a lot of interest as well.

I'm currently on Active Duty in the Air Force and due to seperate after 10 years next March. I may stay in, might go reserves and be a corporate flight attendant or join the DC Air National Guard. Who knows right now? Thought I had it figured out that I would seperate in March but maybe I just need a new assignment and a girl that will go with me.

Do for a living

I retired from 28 years full time detecting in March (at age 58) and now only do two or three days detecting a week.
Rest of the time is split between research and sitting under a tree with a drink in my hand.

I'm a teknikul riter, uhhh, I mean a technical writer for a well known aircraft manufacturer. I did a little metal detecting (using a homebuilt unit) when I was in high school, but I just bought my first commercial unit (Bounty Hunter 202) to get back into hobby again.

Can't wait to post more here as I get more experience...

Hello All!

My name is Ron and I have been lurking here for a couple of weeks, officially registered today. My first detector should be here this week, an Ace 250.

I work at a motorcycle collision/custom paint shop in the Seattle, WA area.

Just another newbie saying Hi :D

Shift Chemical Operator

Only work 14 days out of the month, unfortunately 7 are 12 hour day turns. Use the nights for research and digging aroung places like here. Think I will stop on the way home in the a.m. and hit a new spot.

Retired 3 years ago after 40 yrs for same company in the brick mfg industry. Took another job (no stress-no strain "I actually liked going to work every day at this job"). Now, I'm about to retire a 2nd time and just do what I want when I want.

Greetings to all, I'm new here.

I own and operate a business. We sell and service computers, copiers, printers, fax machines and all sorts of other stuff. We service all that along with TV's, VCR's, DVD, stereos etc.

Been running this place since 1987. I'm ready to give it up any time, getting very tiring. Hope to spend as much time chasing treasure as I can once I get done working.
