What does everyone do for a living?

Started out as an English teacher. I married, had my 3 sons, then studied acting . I act with an off-off company in midtown, NYC. I've been training kid actors for 12 yrs. (someone else's studio) and now just began a coaching biz. I write and have monologs fout on the market. Currently developing a play about the struggle of a school psychiatrist to save a student, opposing administration.

Small world. Perhaps you know my close friend Aaron Seals (Owner of NY Castings)?

I sit in a cubile all day long and watch the clock. I'm an Assistant Master Scheduler for a large heavy equipment manufacturer.

If you're confused as to what a Master Scheduler is don't feel left out. I haven't figured it out yet either....

I suck at math, offered Prez Bush to run the FEMA failures on N. Orleans after Katrina whacked them hard.
Im good at organizing diasters, being a former dep. cheif/shift commander in the fire service/ems division with mega small diasters under my belt.
I could have blown FEMA away with their response/handling of Katrina.
Now Im retired, get tired of offers from local fire depts. to join their units. Not slamming them, just tired of severe pressure on my backside, 24/7.
I enjoy my personal time doing tons of volunteer work and creating new recipes that help our our local park and their consessions.
Im doing over 200 pounds of bbq pork in leiu of frozen sloppy joe sammies.
I still dabble in woodworking, welding and helping my plumber neighbor who has a business doing professional plumbing/heating work.
I also helping my son doing projects and hope to god.............someday my daughter will contact me.
She did the home invasion thing to me and stole almost a grand from me, therefore I had her ass thown in jail.
Through the court, she proved that she was a crack user, and destroying my body.

I usually respond in forums w/short fact based sentences as live saving firefighters/ems/law enforcement folks do, but tonite is kind of tough for me.
Got a call tonite, my mother who we are very estranged............is having surgery tomorrow for advanced colon cancer.
Just a little bit humbled, tonite, and we shall leave it at that.

Thats just a little bit about me.

I have been MD since 1974 with a Ground Hog, and now a 2500. (I like the old one better).

I am a Lieutenant with the County Sheriff's Department. I am also an avid photographer. Metal Detecting is my new hobby.

Right now I'm Retired and on a disability... but I've done it all
Was in the Army for 3 yrs. 63-66.. came out and got a job as an undercover investigator for a detective agency, then got hired as one of the first patrolmen for Boston Collage, became their first detective, left to become Chief of Industrial Safety & Security for an international company,
at the same time I was a firefighter on a volunteer dept., then I also became one of the first Nationaly registered EMT's in the state, and also a first aid & CPR instructor.

Now at the same time I also volunteered for a Civil Air Patrol unit as their rescue officer, and also played in a number of local bands, mainly drums, but I sang and played a couple of other instruments too....

Left that International co. after 5 years for another one, I was still the Chief of Safety & Security, but at this company me & all my force were sworn in as special police officers for the city too.... on the side I also worked for a number of private detective agencies doing investigations, finger prints, and photography.... then I also became a locksmith and an alarm tech because it was just another part of security that I wanted to explore...

Then I moved to the central part of the state and got on a "call" fire dept. ( you get paid for the calls that you respond to) and got a job at a local private school as the maintenance manager..... ( that was full time, but I could leave for fire calls) I got in a couple more local bands, and also opened a small photo studio... was promoted to Fire Investigator & Evidence Photographer for the fire dept, so I closed the photo studio and started a part time Legal Photography business.... got fed up with the bands, so I started my own one man vages style show, and also became a senior correspondent for a national emergency services newspaper.... Oh, I almost forgot... I was the East Coast look a like for Danny Divitto through a Boston agency for 2 years....

Got injured at my full time job (private school) had to have a back operation and ended up on a permenant disability...

So I was forced to retired from the fire dept. after a total of 34 years of service, had 18 years in police/security/investigations.
now I metal detect  Actually I do what I want...
(as long as it's ok with the wife :p) I've been doing photography since the 70's, so I do some stock photography now too....

I'm 63 yrs. old... have 3 kids, 2 boys 37 & 30, and a daughter 28... been married for 38 years... :wow: did I say that ! :wow: I remember when I didn't go out with the same girl for 30 days !!!! :spin::tumble:

(just kiddin' sweetie ! PUT THE PAN DOWN !!! )

OK the wife says that's enough... better go.... for now :D

And I thought that I was busy. Cograts on the 38 years of marriage bet she deserves a gold star , just kidding. Steve.

Keeps me young Steve :D

Now because she doesn't know how to work the computer, and will never see this I'll say ...

You're right... she probably deserves more then a gold star to put up with my...... um...... well you know.... all these years... she's been a good women, a good mother, and a good partner......

Plus.... every time we had a bad storm/disaster.... I left to go to the fire station and help "other" people.... (duty called ) so she was left to fend for herself and the kids....
And she always did a great job too.... (of course I trained her ! ) ;)

But most people don't realize what the families of police, fire, and ems personal have to go through... so they ALL deserve a big gold star !

Now... with that said... IF ever questioned .... in the words of President Clinton... I will deny...deny...deny...

Enjoy the weekend !
