Tha Knife Thread

Here are a few of my swords:
2 Swords.jpg
A couple of CW sword replicas. I don't know how accurate they are but I sure couldn't afford a real one.

This is a sword I found at work. When I went out to empty the trash someone had stuffed the guitar case under the dumpster. I was surprised to find the sword inside. Another replica.

Hey Silversmith45,
I said technically because I have a knife shop and didn't want to come off as advertising my site etc..I just love knives and those are some of the favorites we have right now. We kind of specialize in BRK 1st prod./protos/1 of a kinds and any other US maker that doesn't make junk.
The top left one is the BRK Adventurer Neck.New model that came out this year. It's a nice knife. Fits in your palm very well. The fat body that narrows to the choil and has nice finger cut-outs.
I have one at camp (not that handle material) that I let my father in law test.

This has been my favorite lately:
the BlackJack Tac Ops 7 Prototype. They did the protos in A2 vs 1095 and only made 20. My son carries one at camp.
It's popular with ex and current military guys. (sent 2 out this morn) Nothing quite like a Spartan blade, but those are about 200-300$ more.
pics are bad.

I have a couple of the Blackjack knives. I bought the Model 7 for myself as a Christmas present. (The only way I will get one.) I also have the smaller Blackjack too.

Sm Blackjack.JPG
I have been thinking about either buying a Blackjack Halo model or perhaps the Cold Steel Recon Tanto with the San Mai III steel. I'm surprised that this thread doesn't have more followers.

I like that hunter on top. Classic design.
Small group of pocketknives I got last year. At shows, we always get guys in their 70s-80s who bring a pencil or cigar box full of knives they have and want to show them and talk knives. Sometimes they want to get rid of them, but mostly I just talk knives with them.
It's cool to hear the stories of how they acquired them.

The large one is a Ranger's Longhorn. LB125. made in the US.Too big of a knife for me to carry around.

The black pocketknife is an old Utica.

Orange-ish colored one is an Imperial. Before they were Schrade.

The last one, the stockman with 4 blades, is my favorite. That's one of my edc knives.
Made for Ward's. Haven't figured out if it's a Remington or not. Remington and other companies made these knives for Ward's at turn of the century and a bit after.

The last one is a ZT Zero Tolerance Ken Onion Designed. 0350 S30v stainless, Tungsten coating over the blade, G10 scales almost 8" total.
It's brand new, but was a left over from an engraving group my friend did for some 101st guys. It could have been more than just a group of guys who wanted some made. He does have some knife designs that Force Recon and a few other groups asked him to build.
Awesome knife. I don't use it, I'm not Airborne and I'd feel weird. So it sits on my desk and looks pretty lol.

The ivory colored handle is on a Blackjack model 7 that I purchased for myself as Christmas present. (I have to buy my own if I want anything.) I ended up purchasing both a Cold Steel Recon Tanto with the Japanese steel and a smaller Blackjack Halo model. They haven't arrived yet. Here is a picture of my Kershaw with my 101st insignia engraved on it. It's new and a heavy knife. I probably won't use it and just keep it in my collection. I also found and have on order another cheaper knife with the same insignia. I haven't received it yet either.
101st.jpg
I would have liked the engraving to be a little deeper.

Here are some that my boss gave me. He found them in old tool boxes. I haven had a chance to clean them up yet. Some are pretty rusty and in poor shape. There are Shrade, Browning, Case, Kutmaster and one hard to find anymore, an old Parker Cutlery. A few should clean up like new. He says he has some more that he will give me when he finds them.

nice pocketknives! is the one on the left by itself a Barlow style? Those, at the turn of the century, can be very rare. a few nice old knives in that group. You'll have fun cleaning those up. It's a good winter project.
My favorite Bark River ever. Had this for about 1 day before sold at a show. This is one of two. Gorgeous knife. I'd never be able to take it into the woods.

Wife rolls her eyes at me because I have a couple of brown grocery bags with knives in them. I have to test!

It's an old Barlow by Case, The scale on one side is broken but I think I can glue it but it will still have the crack.

I have knives all over my apartment. Every time I look for one find others that I have forgotten about.

I just received my latest knife yesterday. It's a Blackjack halo boot Knife of D2 steel.
Halo Boot 2.JPG
it's a little smaller than I expected. I was going to order a larger one but I didn't like the seller feedback. It wasn't as sharp as I expected for such an expensive knife but it didn't take long to put a shaving edge on it.

This is a knife of some sorts, 4 1/2" over all. I'm not sure what it intended use was for tho. It has a fish design in the handle.
Brett

looks like a sharpened letter opener...
If it's a fillet knife, it's cool. Never seen one with closed grip before. Either way, it's nice looking.

Silver: is that green canvas micarta?

that's a nice Red Bone Case Barlow. 150.00 ish in cleaned up, no cracks shape. Nice old knife. I've always liked that color of scale.

Another new arrival. A Puma Buffalo Hunter with Micarta Wood handles. That's how they list it.
PBH2.JPG
It looks like a little smaller version of a Puma White Hunter that I bought as a boy. It had stag handles and came in a dove-tailed wooden felt lined box. At the time I gave about ten dollars for it new. I got chewed out by my folks for spending so much money on a knife. I cut myself more than once just looking at it. The only time it was ever used I loaned it to my brother-in-law to go deer hunting. I don't think he even used it then. I sold it for a hundred dollars about twenty years ago and thought that I made a good deal. A while back I checked and they were selling for around four hundred dollars. I checked the other day and now they are over six hundred. It makes me sick. I know that most of the knives that were stolen in my knife collection were valued then at around a hundred dollars apiece. I think they are probably two or three times that now. They were probably traded for drugs or sold for a couple of dollars.

A little smaller Puma Blacktail with a black Micarta handle. It came sharp enough to shave with. I never knew the Puma Knife Company USA was in Lenexa, Kansas.
SmPuma2.jpg

I finally received the other part of my self bought Christmas present. A Cold Steel VG-1 San Mai steel Tanto. I had a Cold Steel Tanto back in the 80's and loved it. I think this one may be even better. it's amazingly sharp. I may even purchase the regular Cold Steel Tanto to see how it measures up.
TSM.JPG

I have a few. limit most of my collection to USA Bucks. Got an old Italian sailors knife from my grandfathers collection recently.

I still have some of the old Buck knives. I had one of the first 110's when they came out. They were a little smaller with rounded edges than the current ones. I carried it for years but it was in my collection that was stolen. I have a new one but it's nothing like the old ones.

I've always liked the Cold Steel Tantos. They have a menacing look to them.

Buck knives are pretty sweet. I just sold the US made Buck Ranger Skinner I had.
My first was a Buck Nighthawk when I was young.
I really like those Pumas. I had forgotten all about Puma. Their knives have very nice lines.

We had 3 tables at a knife show this weekend and there's an older guy (late 70's) who makes knives. He made this handle out of Banksia.
