Recently announced. Three different machines, the Simplex Lite, the Simplex BT, AND THE Simplex Ultra. The Lite is a very basic machine with out any bluetooth capability. The Simplex BT ( stands for blue tooth) will be the direct replacement for the current Simplex+. The Ultra has some additional settings and headphones are included in the package. The operating frequency has been upped from 12 kHz to 15 KHz on all three models. No pricing or release date announced yet.

Edited to add:
Also, slimmer control box and lighterweight

When you can't come up with anything new, add a few things and make your older detectors obsolete. Works for everyone else.
I'm not a Simplex fanboi and if I were to buy one I'd get one of the current plus models. I'm seeing packages that include headphones, digger, and pinpointer for $335.
I guess it depends on your definition of new. I see them as new much like the Nox 900 is new. Different control box housing, different processor, improved ergonomics, etc. Like it or not, manufacturers will continue upgrade their product lines.
Whether or not these machines will out sell the new XTerra Pro is anybody's guess. I guess it'll depend on the price points of each.

What was the spin on the new USB technology? Instead of buying a new detector to upgrade, you can just download it That didn't last long LOL.

I'm not upset. Heck, I got my Simplex+ WHP and the SP24 coil during the introduction for $319. I just find it funny how it seems to be a follow Minelab market.

The simplex came out in 2019. 4 years isn't too bad. They upgraded as much as they were willing to go with that body.
The new Simplex machines are lighter. I imagine the batteries are smaller and lighter. Technology moves forward constantly. They do not seem like a company who will sit on a design or product too long.

Call me old fashion, but I've got a 20 year old E-Trac that will run circles around 90% of the detectors on the market. I think people are becoming far too comfortable with a new paint job, and tires, and calling it new. But hey, it is what it is.

I completely agree with you there! I have loads of fun with my 4 classic Whites machines I own. I find plenty. I do the same with my Tesoro machines.
I guess I am excited that some companies are at least moving forward in some fashion. The ones who didn't do that in the past.......are now part of history.

The only part that I see coming is that now Nokta isn't going to give a toot about keeping my old Simplex+ up to date while they have these three "new" Simplexs to feed.

Dilek has said numerous times that the original Simplex was not made to be upgraded into a more complex machine, it was designed totally as a easy to use simple/entry level machine for beginners.. they just happened to make it perform way above its pay grade.
Shes made it clear that its going to stay the way it was designed to be, the way it is it competes with machines way more expensive so how much more up to date does it need to be?

Obviously enough to be replaced by three new machines. It may soon be irrelevant, Calabash Digger says the price of the new Minelab XTerra Pro is going to be $269. If true and it performs well it’ll make Nokta’s New Generation release a swing and a miss.

What Nokta said was that the ability to do updates via the Internet was a great feature of the Simplex+. It was used as a marketing toy. In its short life, we saw it go from v2.68, v2.77, to 2.78 to add features, and fix issues. Something tells me we won't be seeing this again.

I think the true goal of Nokta will be in the pricing. Going from 12 kHz to 15 kHz, ah, nothing there. Lighter design? Na, nothing there. Three pricing levels and one basic design? DING!

My thought on it is you cant buy a 259.00 detector and then expect the company to update it to a 1500.00 machine, if they did that what would be the reason to ever buy another detector.. they would just be cutting their own throat..
You said you already have a machine that will out perform 90 percent of the detectors on the market so in reality you dont even have the need for another detector.. "Call me old fashion, but I've got a 20 year old E-Trac that will run circles around 90% of the detectors on the market"
Actually going from 12khz to 15khz does have some benefit as machine will pick nickels up better, my G2+ hit nickels a lot better then my Simplex, Omega 8000/8500 did.
If each new Simplex are as she says then there is a benefit to each, simple entry level(cheap),new bluetooth feature(everyones been asking for it) and last a lot more features including bluetooth plus features customers have been wanting.. problem is they cant make everyone happy no matter what they do but they are making more of a effort then any other company I see at the moment.

And who said they should? The Simplex Ultra is far for a $1,500 machine. Lets hope that isn't the price LOL.

No, I'm talking about simple things like being able to use a small, v2.68 couldn't, more modes, a mute function that was needed, and better VDI stability at depth. Fixes and improvements, not an upgraded machine.

The difference between 12 kHz & 15 kHz would be nominal at best. It would simply make the Simplex a slightly better small/gold detector at the cost of loss in coin/silver ability. I would agree I didn't buy the Simplex for its deep coin ability for sure. I do hunt a lot of tot lots so I like that, but I really doubt you'd ever find a piece of gold the 15 kHz would hit that the 12 kHz wouldn't.

In the end it is just another follow the leader, the leader being Minelab Equinox right now, and a way to cover a larger price range for a little more on their end than changing the software. Again, I don't blame them, only smart business, but let us see it for what it is.

Nokta may be competing with the Vanquish.
Vanquish has three levels of trim.
340 is Very simple.

A little more $$ = a few more upgrades.
Just good business.

I do not see enough change to move up from my original Simplex but I sure have to look hard at the Legend.

Some guys seem genuinely miffed about this, don't see why. Minelab is obviously trying to saturate the mid/high end with their stream of close cousin, look alike releases, so Nokta is attempting to do the same with the low end ,, A market which is probably just as lucrative as the high. Is Minelab and Minelab only allowed to flood the market with jacked up models of previous releases ? Don't think so, and the next logical step for Nokta would be the Super Legend, which I suspect is being worked on as we speak.

Its just like a Freddy Kruger movie franchise, you milk it to the bone with release after release until interest finally dries up.
