Deus 2 or Legend

It’s seems to me the folks at Nokta Makro really listen to their customers and I have asked questions myself with next day answers. I bought my Legend due to this fact and have upgraded to the newest version with out any problems. And if they come across a problem, they figure it out and offer a newer update. It’s not like the past where you bought a detector and if there was a problem, you’re stuck with it so IMO the need to wait is not as important. I think you made a good decision for the money on your choice.
I couldn’t afford the dues 2 which I’m sure is a fine machine, and so far am happy with my Legend.

The wireless aspect of the Deus 2 doesn't seem to get much attention, but that was a key factor in my purchase decision. All detectors collapse, but I didn't want to deal with an external cable. I travel internationally with my detector and the XP collapses very quickly and compactly. If having a cable is not a concern, no worries.

On occasion I use mine underwater deeper than 10 feet, so the Legend wasn't an option for me.

Both detectors are rechargeable - love that. Both can be updated via USB connection.

As of today, I don't believe the Legend can pair wirelessly to a pinpointer. I really like the Deus 2 wireless headphones and WS-6 pinpointer. All are integrated wirelessly. And just 2 pounds (less than 1 kg), I can swing it all day (after 2.5 years of chemotherapy, my muscle strength isn't what it once was).

To me, it depends on budget and the type of detecting you plan to do. It's amazing how much detector is available at each price point. My original Fisher would be outclassed by a $250 Nokta Makro Simplex today. For me, the Deus 2 fit my requirements and I'm enjoying every minute with it.

Best of luck with your hunting.

I have only detected internationally for 25 years. The Deus 2 has no advantage for being put in a suit case. In fact their recharging system is fragile and does not travel well.
Good travel with a detector, means putting your coil and pod in your carry on, anyway.

So far, the hard case for the Deus 2 has traveled with me well. Everything is protected and held in place. I just check the case along with my luggage.

There is no way my pod and coil will ever leave my carry-on. Unless mandated. Special cost for another piece of luggage? No thanks.

If you ever remember the old threads a long time ago. A Deus design coming from France with tough detecting laws could be hid in a trench coat for night hawking. You could even hunt a graveyard with a coil held in your hands checking for jewelry that fell off of the tombstones. Makes some sense on the design.

I would learn your machine to almost 100% before any updates. None of them seem critical to operations at this point. So easy to decide if an update is worth it once you know your machine.

Deus updates have issues right now............

Thanks for the info. Won't update mine when it shows up if i can help it.

Joe03,
I own a Legend and the Equinox 800. The Legend is very close in performance to the Equinox 600 and has way more features that are comparable to the Equinox 800. So does that mean that the Equinox is also a toy based on ManInThe WaLL’s statement? Very few people would agree with that, even people that don’t care for the Equinox.

Deus 2 is definitely an outstanding detector.

The original poster eventually bought a Deus 2. I hope he is really enjoying it.

They're planning to release a wireless pinpointer for the Legend. Hopefully they listened to my advice to integrate it to the Legends audio, like a Sunray inline probe...we shall see.

I have the legend, dues2, and CTX 3030. Dues 2 is the one I’m using the most. Legend is a toy compared to the dues 2.

A toy? Based on what? Sorry I call BS on this statement, and ironic that the $600 "toy" is being compared with a $2500 Minelab CTX and the $1600 D2.

How long have you been using metal detectors?
How many hours do you have on each of these units, or other units?

Hmm

I have both the Deus 2 and the Legend. Anyone calling the Legend a toy is simply trolling, it doesn’t even really deserve a response, because it’s the equivalent of farting in an aisle in a grocery store and walking away.

I just think relatively speaking, they are in two total different classes.

I look at the DEUS, and I feel like I’m looking at something that’s very refined, that a lot of attention to detail has been paid in the design of it.

I just feel like it’s in a class of its own.

The weight, the quick response time, The wireless aspect of it, The design of the headphones,.

Every other metal detector looks like it was copied off of another Metal Detector model. The DEUS has a lot of original aspects to it, unlike every other Metal Detector that seems like it’s copied off of another unit with minor changes.

Please don’t take this personal, when someone insults a product, I’m not insulting you. Not trying to troll anyone.
