Deus 2 might just be the new bomb

I just don't like the proprietary battery packs and 3 separate units to charge/connect. Every 5-6 years you need to replace them and how long will they keep making them
???

The built in battery pack bothered me too at first. Not so much anymore. Seems like that’s the route most manufacturers are taking nowadays. I figure worst case scenario if the battery goes bad and they’re no longer serviced, I can take it apart and solder in a new battery myself. Besides, if the detector is no longer serviced by the manufacturer, it’s probably time to upgrade anyway.

Deus 1 has built in batteries.
They have proven basically grand.

Battery setup contributes to light weight of unit(s) componets.

Battery setup would be least of my worries.

What I would be worried about. How long and how many holes can a person dig using this bombshell?

Deus 2 is looking like the bomb.

I only see one flaw. Thus far.
Higher conductors are more congested at top of scale for a 99 ID system detector. I would expect more space between zincoln and say clad dime or copper penny.

That's true. I pay an exurbanite amount every few years for the latest I-phone with the same propriety battery setup. Whites is now out of business and Garrett isn't making any more coils for them since they bought them out. I'll be keeping my eye on this Deus 2.

I've told the boss that I'm getting one, and she's got no problem with it. I'm going to wait until the big headphones (and possibly other accessories, including the Go Terrain app) are available. I'm still totally having fun with my Deus I with the 9x5 elliptical. I even picked up a 1949 penny from an old USA army site in the middle of Tokyo last weekend - on top of the ground even - right next to the spot I pulled up an old Kan'ei Tsuhou old style coin used from the mid-1600s to 1800s. It's amazing what's in the dirt. The Deus is awesome, and I can't wait to take the Deus II to the black sand beach and dig up more old coins and jewelry.

Regarding the batteries in the Deus, just bring a small phone charger pack with you if you have any worries about batteries going dead. I've been in the field when my headphones went dead, and just plugged in the power pack and dropped it in the hood of my sweatshirt. It works great while charging. The pinpointed works while charging too. I've not had to do this test on my coil or remote control, but I imagine it would work too. Small battery packs can charge everything easily and a 30 minute charge will give you enough power to keep going for a while. Of course you always want to check your gear before going on an important hunt, but the Deus has proven to even be dead battery proof. You can charge any of the headphones, coil, remote with a single AA battery too. I bought the AA charger+light from metaldetector.com and it's also proven to work great.

I haven’t seen anyone with one yet except Calabash ,and he said his was free from Xp from what I understand.
If I were a manufacturer introducing a new detector, I would send him a free detector because he starts pumping those videos up on ytube as fast as a human being can.

Thus far reviewing videos. This Deus 2 thing is a real bomb. Industry has changed folks. Elephants are hard to move, Xp has moved elephant imo. At least for now.
Beach hunters can start discarding their excals. For sure.

Deus 1 obsoleted and many more. Yeah I said it.
The coil height above difficult to detect scenarios and coil height above ground on deeper targets is out of this world. Game changer for sure. Taller grass and weeds the Deus 2 the real deal.

Here is just one video sample to show Deus 2 performance. Eqx is compared in video.

Xp didn’t just tinker around the edges with Deus 2. Lot more!!!!

Seeing is believing!!!
Jaw dropping performance actually!!!

Yeah the naysayers can try to deflect. Good luck. Won’t work.

I’ll put 2 more videos up here to show.

Deus 2 and Eqx 800 compared nails and gold coin. Eqx has 6” coil. Deus 2 has 9” coil.

Deus 2 and Eqx 800 compared with high conductive coin and a $1 gold coin. Deus 2 wearing 9” coil. Eqx wearing 11” coil.

Back in the day Minelab introduced the 3030 and Etrac at $1500 and $2500, sold probably tens of thousands of each ,just a guess..
In the last 5 years lots of new mousetraps out with close performance at a fraction of that price..Imo Xp isn’t gonna do those sales like Minelab did,not at those prices.. It’s not a matter of people spending,it’s a matter of people spending wisely.. The Confetti XP sprinkled on the Deus 2 looks good but don’t necessarily get the job done any better for turf hunters,at least I see nothing for myself to gain...I know lots of folks on these forums are over the moon with simultaneous multi frequency machines,,but Xp Deus single frequency is a beast in itself and I just don’t see the reason to upgrade,

That's what is fun about having a hobby. Those of us that know the original DEUS well and love it will upgrade to the the DEUS II to support the company we appreciate and to pour money into our hobby - to make our hobby "a hobby" - and get new fun and performance out of it. I'm all in and will buy one because I know the fun and thrills I get out of my DEUS, so, yeah, I'll throw some change at XP to get more fun, because it's fun and they deserve it because their tools make my hobby awesome for me. (And I sometimes find some really, really cool **** too).

Until I started watching Calabash's videos on the Deus II I was totally happy with my Equinox 800. I'm still happy with the Equinox, but gotta say the Deus II looks like it's got the equinox beat in a lot of areas. Could be all areas. The last few videos Calabash did convinced me to go ahead and pre-order one.

Looks that way to me too. Most sites I go to have been detected. The Nox has pulled a lot of coins from locations that were detected out. I'm sure the D2 will find some more of those masked targets.

Calabash is obviously trying to upload as many videos as possible to get the info out there, but I would like to see some wild digs 800 vs. D2 with one detector going behind the other with both optimized for the conditions.
It would also be nice to see in the dirt and on the various beach conditions.

Which would mean absolutely nothing. Any quality detector will find targets that were missed. Will the Deus II be a good detector? Possibly, but at the price they are asking. No thanks.

X2.... My old sites can keep those few mercs, wheat pennies and nickels, I'll keep my $1500. Lol.. That's the real elephant in the room, the price.
A guy can only go so far before your chasing ghosts, like the poker player who keeps trying to get his money back.
Will this deus squeeze a few pennies, nickels and dimes out of places the Deus 1 and nox couldn't? I don't know, but the $1500 it cost says I'll never find out

Myself I may buy coil for Deus 2 and a remote. Use my Deus 1 rod. Get me into Deus 2 action about price of Eqx 800 I think. Could pick up wireless headphones later I suppose. Or I may pony up and buy whole unit intact.

I need to get one soon.
Folks may find my use of Deus 2 interesting. Along side something else.

Guys a lot of you keep saying it's easy to go back and keep finding more from previously hunted spots. Sure if you only hunted them a few times haphazardly, then yes maybe.

My spots have been cleaned out. You are not going to find a good silver signal. You may find plenty of iffys to dig, but you not going to find an obvious dig me signal. One Park I offered two digging buddies $20.00 for a silver. They get 5 holes apiece to do it in. No takers! I have not hunted it more than half a dozen times this year. Have not found a silver there since last Jan.-Feb. time frame. By the way the Equinox opened this park back up. It had been given up on. I managed around 15 silvers the winter and spring I got my Equinox. After that silver finds became very sporadic.

So if I take a Deus II in there and it unmask any obvious dig me signals believe me that's doing something. I've got several places like that. To me that's how you test a machine other than in the wild found target head to heads.

I'd like to see you run the deus 2 up against the tarsacci .
