We may have already forgotten the first persons name but not the second!

"Second in line for the jab at University Hospital in Coventry (England) was 81-year-old William Shakespeare from Warwickshire"

Was just going to comment about The Bard! :D

So you’re saying some folks aren’t paying their electric bill?

I think he is saying so many are concerned about their own "rights", the hell with everyone else even though "turning on that light/not wearing that mask" effects everybody else!

Hoping my wife will be able to travel back to the Philippines this next year to see her mom who is 93 now . She couldn't go this year due to the Philippines shutting down due to the virus. All planes flights and boats were stopped there to keep the virus under control . They are just starting to ease up restrictions now and opening up some flight to the country.

I really hope she can go soon!

travel restrictions

I really hope she can go soon!
Most people here think we have had hard restrictions placed on us, over in the Philippines almost every thing was shut down all air and boat travel were were shut down . People were restricted to their houses to leave you needed a pass from the local authorities to leave to get food or medical. If you were caught out with out a permit you could be arrested. Many people were stranded on islands other than their homes. Most of my mother in laws kids could not come home for her 93rd birthday as was planned. My wife already had tickets to return there this summer and had to get a refund first because the flight to Korea were shut down then the flights to the Philippines. They are easing up restrictions now and hopefully she can go back this summer.

Sad, but this is America where we have a Bill of Rights to protect us from government over-reach. But, I'm not sure many folks pay attention to it anymore though. Sad times. I don't need the government to tell me how to protect myself.

Laying a guilt trip on anyone was not the intention, merely stating my opinion. As far as the other guy, well if you have never known anyone or witnessed someone who thinks of others before themselves, how sad for you. Just my opinion Mark
Sir so I guess you live in the woods naked, no home, no money, no firewood for heat, never married or went to school because if you did any of that, you thought of yourself and not the other guy.
Should I give a few bucks to that drug addict who wants my money not for food but for meth or crack or should I think of him and give him nothing to get high on? I'd say I thought of the other guy.

How about your local, state and federal taxes. They seem to always go up. Your the other guy and are they thinking of you?

If you want this shot so you feel better please go get the shot but others who do not trust a shot that the virus has over a 95 % survivor rate ( unless you live in NY and live in a nursing home where Covid-19 victims where forced into nursing homes by the Governor) are making a educated choice that is right for them and only them.

No cure for Cancer but someone can make a vaccine for this fast?

I know people who died from covid-19 who had other major medical conditions that actually killed them but people make more money from putting on their death certificate that they died from it and not the cancer, kidney failure or heart attack that they suffered from for years before but Covid 19 "Killed" them.

I just spent 2 weeks in the hospital. Tested for covid before, during and last week for covid and I was neg all 3 times.

Yes, I will think about myself. BTW you can't save others if you can't save yourself first.

Totally agree.....

The situation is Dire Indeed!

From today's NY Times.

The federal government published detailed information on hospitalized Covid-19 patients for the first time. The data showed that many Americans live in areas where hospitals are running critically short of intensive care beds.

While we’ve had hospitalization figures from The Covid Tracking Project for some time, the new data is more granular and is revealing just how precarious the situation is in some hot spots. Places like Amarillo, Texas; Coral Gables, Fla.; and Troy, Mich., are now seeing rates of serious illness that approach the levels in New York City during the worst weeks of the spring.

Over all, more than 100 million Americans — about one in three — live in an area where hospitals reported fewer than 15 percent of intensive care beds were still available as of last week.

It’s even worse for one in 10 Americans, who live in areas where fewer than 5 percent of intensive care beds are available — or in some cases are already completely full. In El Paso, for example, just 13 of 400 intensive care beds were not occupied last week. In Fargo, N.D., there were three. In Albuquerque, zero.

The recovery rate for hospitalized coronavirus patients is much higher now than earlier in the pandemic. But when hospitals are full, experts say that maintaining existing standards of care for the sickest patients may be difficult or impossible.

In New Mexico, where I.C.U.s are full across the state, Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham is expected to announce that hospitals will be allowed to ration care based on who is most likely to survive. Some experts say that physicians are already rationing care, as evidenced by the declining rate at which Covid-19 patients have been hospitalized during the last several weeks. Across the country, officials have begun borrowing beds in children’s hospitals to care for adults.

Rural counties can be particularly vulnerable. In the Big Bend region of Texas, for example, cases are soaring and hospital beds are quickly filling up. The region has just one hospital covering 12,000 square miles, and no heart or lung specialists to treat serious cases of Covid-19.

A sharp increase in cases can quickly overwhelm smaller hospitals, said Beth Blauer, director of the Centers for Civic Impact at Johns Hopkins University: “This disease progresses very quickly and can get very ugly very fast. When you don’t have that capacity, that means people will die.”

I would not quote any MSM when they write like this.

I find it hard to believe anything that I read from MSM anymore, seems they bury the news. Anymore it seems only entertainment and it’s really sad.

So where do you go to get information on this or any subject?!?

So where do you go to get information on this or any subject?!?
Not from the NYT or any badly written with "sources" that are not named.
Who, when, What, Why and how. Not "feelings" or "Unnamed Sources" or even say a majority of something without stating who exactly they are and can't forget proof.

Investigation Journalism is dead.
