Vaccine Mandate

My circle is small and tends to lean way toward those that will never get the jab. Here's my personal experience strictly dealing with what I've seen with my own 2 eyes over this past year.

A few people got the jab and haven't been sick. 2 people were recently sick from covid and recovered. I don't know if either of them had gotten the jab, but I highly, highly doubt it. 2 people got the jab are are currently hospitalized with covid. One person got the jab and died days later.

Everyone else has not gotten the jab and has either not contracted covid, or were asymptomatic. A few, including myself, have had some random allergy symptoms that I suppose could be covid related but recovered quickly.

Heck, I have a headache right now and I'm getting over a sore throat. Maybe I have covid. If I do, I know I am highly likely to recover and develop natural antibodies that are more effective against re-infection, including variants.

Regardless, my personal observations show my risk is far lower if I stay away from the jab, so that is what I'll be doing. If I'm dead in a week, it was my choice and I will defend peoples right to make their own choice to my last breath.

OMG, a CEO who stands to profit from Fauci's stance is defending Fauci's stance? Staggering. Consider my mind changed. It all MUST be true!

My post wasn't about a CEO’s profit. That is going on no matter we do.

It was to point out I trust real doctors and scientists with long track records of helping their fellow man or woman.

 seeing how busy this thread is at times you wonder how much detecting is being done right now

Normally I would be detecting more frequently than I have been, but we recently went thru a period with heat indexes as high as 105, now I have had times before where I've detected on extra warm days, and would get soaked with sweat and still had fun finding only 3 or 4 coins and the usual trash because I simply enjoy detecting, but the really extreme days even if you wanted to endure the heat, the ground can be a little unforgiving for digging plugs  then we might have days in a row with rain, so there are sometimes periods during the summer where you simply watch for windows of opportunity to detect in between all that

As far as wearing a mask while detecting, it has usually been very rare for anyone to come within about 30 feet of where I am detecting so no need to, but I do carry a mask in my shirt pocket to have ready to put on in just in case for the very rare times someone might come right up real close to talk, especially if I am downwind from them

Edit to add: If I wear a mask that is my choice, if someone chooses to not wear a mask that is their choice, if any businesses require a mask to enter, that is their choice. I may not agree with everything others have to say, but I respect their right to have their own views even if I disagree with them.
That's been my point all along. But, there are some angry peeps in this thread. America will never return the one for all, all for one attitude that made this country great. Folk who don't want the vax are in no way prohibiting someone who does want to. If someone wants it, it's ok with me. No problem.

I'm not getting the vax. I would however, take Ivermectin or Hydroxychloroquine. Not allowing either of these for public use in the United States is agenda driven imo. That's too bad.

Heat index in South Louisiana and South Texas can easily hit 105-110. I still hunt however. Nothing like a good 2 o'clock afternoon shower to cool things down.

I agree that it is best to simply "agree to disagree" without making it personal.

As far as vaccines in general, before the Covid vaccine I had not gotten any vaccine since the polio vaccine when I was somewhere about 5 years old. I am not a government lackey and I am leery of the unconstitutional agendas of some in high places of power, but as far as the Covid vaccine we simply made a personal decision based on what we felt was best for us.

Please be careful to avoid heat stroke or even heat exhaustion, it can sneak up on you and you might feel fine until it hits you, some years ago I was doing some painting in our front yard even though it was very warm, I was determined to finish up before I quit as I didn't have much more to do, but I started feeling somewhat woozy and realized I was suffering from heat exhaustion which caused my blood pressure to drop way low (I knew enough to check my blood pressure after feeling woozy) it took me about 3 days before I felt normal again, I learned my lesson to not be too gung ho at the risk of my health.

Hey, I don't have a problem getting sweaty outside and enduring a reasonable amount of time in the heat, but I learned my lesson the hard way not to push it too far

Oh man, I had one of those once. It's worse than you can imagine. I have stained concrete in my house . I stripped down to my undies and laid sprawled on my floor for about two hrs. Never thought I would love my floor so much. LOL

I have had times where I pushed myself getting yardwork done in the extra warm weather, but knew when it was time to take a break and would come inside and lay down on the floor in the dining room right in front of the floor fan our dog likes laying in front of, our dog gets a kick out of me doing that, would reach over and give me a "kiss" (lick) and lay there in front of the fan next to me as if to say "see how nice it is in front of the fan ?" she didn't mind sharing "her" fan with me

BAWAHHAAA, dogs aren't as dumb as humans. Neither are my cats. My cats are constantly giving me the "what are you doing" look.

Yep, as much as my dog likes going out in the yard with me, she is smart enough to know when she's had enough of the warm weather for now and is definitely ready to go back inside the house where it's cooler

Colorado is about to close its borders once again due to another new variant. SARS-CoV-2 is just getting worse and worse.

I never could understand why the states closed their borders when the first strain of Covid started going around.
State lines are nothing more than imaginary lines on a map. There are so many roads that lead in or out of a state that there's no way they can all be patrolled.

The Southern border is wide open with lots of potential for COVID-19 coming in. They aren't to concerned about that or those coming in infected with C19 or being un-vaccinated. Talk about a Super Spreader Event! They are shipping those folks all over the country. Yet I'm getting blamed for spreading C19 and for not taking one for the team.

Makes you wonder where their priorities really lie? Getting rid of C19 must not be at the top of the list.

You are getting awfully closed to politics. But your assertion is false. The Souther border is not wide open. Just google "is the southern border open".

Oh it's political. Just not for the reasons you think. You still won't answer the question. Why wear a mask if you're vaxxed ? Mask aren't going to prevent you from spreading or contracting squat. You would have to wear a space helmet for that to happen.

What is being pushed here in CT is to protect the unvaccinated.. I wear mine because of the unvaccinated... I treat everyone as being unvaccinated.

Most of the posts I've seen on this thread are straight from the political sites. I wear a mask when in places where I could infect others not because I have to, but because I choose to. We all make a choice we can live with. My only concern is that soon we will once again lose that choice because of a few. Nothing new here. The squeaky wheel gets the oil as they say. Those who cry the loudest no matter how few.

It looks like 231,000,000 out of 330,000,000, or 70%, have gotten the vaccination. out of 231,000,000 6,000 still got infected, and 1,200 died. Even that low chance scares some people. Oh, they like to blame it on protecting their Rights, but that is just on the outside.

Doesn't matter, the right people will and always have done the right thing.

Doesn't matter, the right people will and always have done the right thing. Define "right thing" in this situation.

The squeaky wheel gets the oil as they say. Grease, man. Grease.
