Silver Half Giveaway and Another Report.

Ohhhhh👀
A sweet silver report ?
I like it a lot Trap.
Very interesting and impressive that you have scrounged silver up in every hunt this year to date.
The giveaway is also a reflection of your unselfish nature.
I can’t say I am man enough to give up any of the silver halfs I have dug.
I do have some I purchased though🤔
Nope nope ... sounds crazy to me 😜
I have not evolved enough as a hunter to do that yet .

Great display as usual and congratulations on the great saves buddy.

Appreciate your reply with all the kind words Brad. Sorry to say the hunt streak came to an end but hope to restart a new one on my next outing. This giveaway is not totally unselfish as it is to promote activity on the forum. Also like you I can not give up any Silver I have dug. I still have every one I dug and all are in my little treasure chest, all except this years finds. The 3 Halves were purchased for this event.
Way to go Trapper, congrats on getting out, crazy times..
Thank you Jim for your reply. Times are different and a bit scary. All we can do is our best to stay safe.
So glad to see you're still around Trapper! Haven't seen many of your posts lately! You've got me beat by 15 silvers for the year so far! That's a swell barber quarter you found! I've only found 1 so far in my life.....a very worn 1906, here in Southern Oregon. There's just not that many places to look for older coins here, someday I'd love to hunt farther east. Take care & good to hear from ya again!
Thank you Goldy for your reply. I have been posting fairly regular since our thaw in March, actually been having a pretty good year so far. This virus thing has put a major damper on a lot of my plans but will continue plugging where and when I can. Trapper

Nice streak you have going, Trapper! My last few hunts have not produced silver, but always good to get out and try. I am also a bit stubborn like that.
Very generous of you to give away your own big silvers to promote "The Friendly"! Thank You!

Trapper, Congrats on the silver streak and V nickel success. I can sympathize with you on needing some new ground. I’m not traveling very far with all that’s going on, and the spots close to me are really only good for clad. Mainly it’s jewelry hunting and we all know how maddening that can get. I’ve been hesitant asking for permissions during all this as well.
Truly appreciate your reply Liam. Like you I'm very hesitant about permissions so pounded locations will have to make do. My streak had ended but today I got out a started a new one. been using the Nox a lot lately as it performs pretty darn good in the trashy areas I have been hunting, hence the increase on my take of Nickels. Stay safe my friend.
Gotta love finding that silver! What detector have you been using to find it? Find any good cheese lately?
Thank you swing for your reply. For most part the CTX works the best digging Silver for me but the trashy grounds I have been in I have been very please with the Nox's performance. Not put any cheese in the coffers but my wife has over 100 pounds of different varieties she made in her cheese cave aging.
Congrats on the silvers, and the V Trapper!!! That stinking Barber anything coin just will not show her pretty face to me!!! I will find her, it’s only a matter of time. She can run, it she cant’t hide forever.

Also thank you for the giveaway you’re doing this month. I look forward to seeing who the lucky 3 will be.
Thank you Travis. Your right your Barber is coming and it will be well deserved. I hope it will be sooner than later. I see Toad has not replied to my thread, you might want to tell him so he can get entered. Trapper

What a way to start 2020 Trapper! You're truly an inspiration to those of us just getting our feet wet in this hobby! Congrats on all the awesome finds!

im always jelous of the guys finding silver coins. I have yet to find a single one. Hopefully this will be the year for me as I have a few promising permissions and a nicer machine to work with so I have my fingers crossed.
First thank you for your reply. Hopefully this will be your year and digging that first Silver coin is realized. Locations is the key, as, if the grounds your on does not hold the wanted targets You can not realize the fulfillment of your wants. The new sites and the new machine can be a lot of help here. Get to know your machine and do your research on the history of the ground you intend to hunt. The success will come.
Nice finds!

I need to do some more homework and find some new places to go as well. I hit the fairgrounds in my county and managed to find a 1919 wheat, but every other target was clad and it wasn't all that fulfilling. I tried a downtown section with an ATV trail. I was detecting the edges of the trail and a "Karen" with her three little dogs started barking at me...Karen, not the dogs. The building is less than six feet from the trail, but she assumes she owns up to the trail itself. (Hint: she doesn't) It wasn't worth my time to argue with her over a 3' X 75' strip of grass. Moved on to another park, but then the rain set in, so I went home. A few bucks in clad...
Thank you Johnny for your reply. Your earning your stripes as your progressing in this hobby and the "Karen" experience is one I think most of have had it. You keep doing the homework and then making the effort and the success your seeking will come.
Thanks for my entering this contest👍😁
Appreciate you reply "Addit" but you need to edit you post here as there is only five words in it. To be qualified for the drawing it must have a minimum of ten. Trapper

Man your on killing it again. Glade to see your still getting out. Most of our parks around here have been shut due to the BUG. You can walk thru them or jog but not able to do anything else. Stay safe bud. HH

This sounds like an awesome contest! Haven’t dug any silver yet this year but hopefully soon!

Great post, as always. A nice Barber Quarter is always a welcomed find. Looking forward to tracking your progress this year. You are certainly accomplished in the silver seeking craft. One major trait to a successful coin shooter, (that is sometimes overlooked) is tenacity. Some hunts turn into very long ones, if you are determined to not stop until that silver coin comes.

Well &^%^$ went to the school where the gate to the parking area was open. Two huge totlots surrounded by 6 foot wrought iron fences and yes the gates were locked.

So I decided to hit the area in front of another school hoping to find a little clad.

Got geared up and hit my first target. What is going on my pin pointer is dead I put a brand new battery in it the last time I was out.

Got a spare out of the car. DEAD. Piddled around on the lawn for a while and dug a few targets. Lord I hate detecting without a pin pointer.

There were not many non trash targets to be found so I gave up and came home. Put new battery in the pin pointer and it works as it should. I found one quarter, one dime and two copper pennies.

Now I have to investigate the governors order to Stay Home to see if I can go hit some local parks for a zincoln or two.
Man o Man George I feel your pain. It is funny here also some schools are locked down and others are wide open. So far the parks have been open but I worry as on several times I have seen gatherings of groups and I have a fear that misuse will eventually get them closed down also. They just closed down the 30 state parks that were being overcrowded and trashed. Still I am taking advantage of what I can to still pursue digging a few targets. In the last 3 weeks being out there I have not had another person within 30 yards. Truly miss shared hunts but it is what it is. Hang in there George as better days will come.
Congrats once again on making some spectacular finds ! Great going on the sweet Barber !
Appreciate your kind words Doc, thank you. The Barber cleaned up very nicely, wish they all came out of the ground in that shape.
Nice streak you have going, Trapper! My last few hunts have not produced silver, but always good to get out and try. I am also a bit stubborn like that.
Very generous of you to give away your own big silvers to promote "The Friendly"! Thank You!
Thank you Blaise. The streak has come to a end. But I now have started another and its up to two. I know that I will not always find Silver under the coil but it will always be my intent. As far as the drawing goes, well it is only a small way to say thank you to the members in this forum that shared their experience and wisdom that aided me to reach the successes I have had over the years. Trapper

Not sure how I missed this post yet!

Congratulations on the silvers and the minimum of one silver per hunt, track record!

Like i say..........500 is out there!

Sorry to say the streak ended Blaise but am happy to say I started a new one and it is now up to two. The giveaway is the least I could do and is just a thank you to the membership for all the support given me over the years.
Nice looking Barber coin and the others are good too.
Thanks Ed. I have to agree all the Silver looks pretty good but the Barber does steal the Show. Trapper

Hello Trapper! Congrats on all the silver! I'm always amazed at how much you find. Congrats on that V nickel also! Thanks for the heads up on this contest. I haven't been spending much time on the forum since the virus took over. I haven't been hunting as much either. Worm and I haven't done a Sunday morning hunt in 3 or 4 weeks now.

Congrats once again on making some amazing finds! Great going on the sweet Barber! Its my turn now!!!!

Appreciate you kind words, thank you. Hope this thread inspires a whole lot more into participation. I thought it would be more effective than it has been.
