This is true. He comes across as a salesman for the D2. I've been saying that for months, because it is true. As a practicing economist, the first phrase they teach you in ECON 101 is "people respond to incentives". A free machine will do that.

But, what I find really bizarre, tho, is that members of this forum can post his content here, even tho he is banned, but I cannot post a link to my own content per forum rules, even tho I am not banned.

I love this forum, and appreciate the moderators (its a thankless job; I've done it for years in another hobby), otherwise I would not be a supporter, but I can't understand this philosophy.

I think the mods need to make a decision here. Either ban posting of CD's content by members, or allow members in good standing to post links to their own content. It just makes no sense.

If I want the forum to see my content (which admittedly isn't that good, but that is beside the point), I should do something to get myself banned, and then have a friend post links to my site.

How silly is that? I hope the mods consider this issue seriously. I grow weary of this becoming the CD forum. That said, I still appreciate all the work the mods and owners here do, and I've been on this forum for a very long time as these things go. Keep up the good work regardless of what you decide, and you still have my support.

Agreed. I've got 30 dug wild silvers with the E-Trac since 03/01. Admittedly, I've had a run of good luck, but that luck came from countless hours of research while the ground was frozen around here.

Show me the wild finds with these machines, not air tests, test gardens, endless theory in long winded forum posts, links to banned members, claims of dimes being dug 50 feet deep, claims that detectorist X with machine Y is a guru, and so on.

Spend less time on the forum, and more time digging. I own a Nox. I own a D2. But I'm sill swinging the E-Trac because I enjoy finding silver coins.

Its simple. Show me the finds in wild dug situations, not these endless threads about who is smarter than who.

(BTW Terry, my E-Trac is the one you sold me over 10 years ago on this forum. Still going strong 1400+ silvers later. The next time I am in Kansas, I will look you up. I owe you one for this awesome machine).

I am totally baffled by that last paragraph. We have another forum member that posts their own content relentlessly and even used the title "My Deus 2 feedback and commentary, comparison videos, videos, pics."

So Calabash User Error 1. He is using tiny center of the DD coil spine sweeps to determine if FerroCheck is a gimmick.

Calabash User Error 2. Discrimination pattern is set on C or F when I am able to see his Legend's display screen so iron is being totally rejected and the only way to know that the coil is over an iron target is to actually look at the FerroCheck meter which actually won't work anyway with those tiny Deus-like center of the coil swings.

Calabash User Error 3. Turning up the iron audio volume level for use in a Youtube video would be important especially if using the external speaker but with iron totally rejected it would not help.

So, setup like Calabash had it.........?????why did he do that by the way??????.......Legend and its FerroCheck feature will definitely FAIL.

It is a darn shame that Calabash's videos have comments disabled, making more informed people resort to litigating his mistakes on other forums because they can't address them with him directly.

Funny thing is I worked with folks from all 50 states, even some from foreign countries.
They sure didn’t think I was stupid.

They would ask me for my opinion on matters. Some matters serious too. To get aircraft back in commission.
And all I had was HS diploma.

Calabash is still bashing the Legend in his latest video…….and he made me a dishonorary captain of the Nokta Makro Legend defender team……As usual Calabash just throws a hole bunch of stuff up against a wall when he is not happy because he gets called out.

Anyway, he actually showed the FerroCheck feature working very well over a 5” deep dime target…….I didn’t see or hear any iron responses during his wide sweeps over the 5” dime since there shouldn’t be any. I just saw good IDs and heard the correct tones. Then he throws down a bottle cap about 6” from the buried 5” dime and low and behold, the FerroCheck feature which is a “Marketing Gimmick” works perfectly for anyone who is paying attention while Calabash continues his verbal diatribe filled with negatives and sarcasm. The FerroCheck meter shows multiple alternating ferrous and non-ferrous filling up of the FerroCheck graphs when he swings over the steel alloy bottle cap along with a wide range of target IDs and tones from iron responses to high 40s/low 50s. That is exactly how it is supposed to work on surface to a few inches deep iron and iron alloy targets. This is at the 9 minute mark of the video. Afterwards he says he is swinging the coil at 5" height over another bottle cap which I never saw so who knows….

I actually had the same misgivings as Calabash about using FerroCheck when I read the instructions. How could I possibly make larger sweeps or at least let the coil completely clear a suspected steel bottle cap target in a sea of mixed iron and aluminum trash in order for FerroCheck to work.

Instead of calling it a marketing gimmick and making fun of it, I just tried it out in real world field hunting at crown bottle cap trashed sites unlike Calabash. I was shocked at how well it worked on shallower iron/steel targets and yes it does work well even in areas with lots of steel crown bottle caps. Just like the iron bias feature on the Equinox, the Disc IAR feature on Deus 1 and ORX, the horseshoe graph on Deus 1, the FerroCheck is meant to be used accurately on shallower targets or targets with strong signals.

So Calabash can complain about Friendly, ridicule me and the Legend all he wants. He actually showed FerroCheck working as it should after following the instructions recommended by Nokta Makro. Maybe he didn't notice it working since he didn't mention it and he obviously had his mind on other things............
