:D Well, it wasn't exactly ideal conditions to do some beepin today, but I just wanted to see if it was possible. Hit my favorite patch of woods for about an hour before getting dark. I didn't get any coins, but I found a shotgun head stamp, a set of old keys, some trash, and what I thought was some gold with the word India stamped twice on the inside. I think it's just a gold colored piece of aluminum or tin. Not sure. I still had fun making my way through the eight or so inches of snow. It's supposed to be 50 to 60 degrees the next couple of days but probably really wet and muddy. Happy Hunting everybody!!

I tried the same, id kick the snow from an area then detect, then repeat. After an hour I gave up and went to the beach. Hope the snow melts tomorrow.

What makes you think it isn't gold? Indian gold is often 18-22k, and would be very soft. Looks like gold to me. I'd get it checked, seems promising. Is it heavy? Good luck!

A lot of time Gold from India is 22 or 24 karat... My sister in law is from India and the only gold she can wear is 22 or 24... And she said not all their gold is marked. So test it. Congrats!!!

Looks like gold to me also.

Gold from that region has an orange glow to it ,just like your picture.

Time for the acid test ..

Yeah there's a little spot on it that looks silver underneath and it's so light. I'll just have to get it checked out at the jewelers. When I have a junk item I think is gold, he likes to say, "Well, that slept next to gold."

I found two rings last week one looked silver and the other was surly gold, they both said INDIA inside the bands, they didn't have the weight to them for gold or silver.. well i had them checked and they turned out to be aluminum but the gold colored ring sure came from the ground looking like the real deal.

I would say good job on finding any ring in those conditions!
Snowed in here as well...
Detected all last night in my sleep... man i'm beat!
Dreamed this one site I been thinking about in the woods, had no snow, and i thought in my dream... why have i not been detecting this?! THEN I WOKE UP to:snowing::snowtruck:

I can confirm. We did a lot of snow kicking (about 6+ inches deep) in the woods before giving up after an hour.

Hoping for the rain and high 40's it supposed to be today....

That's awesome! Har far down were you able to detect? I'm assuming that 8" of snow would only allow you to find things a couple inches down? I'm think'n about putting on my DD and having a go at it (I got about 6" of snow here.) I'm getting itchy for some silver!

The head stamp was about 3 inches deep in the soil. It sounded real good. As I searched, I would get a weak signal as I brushed the top of the snow. But after kicking away the layer of snow and leaves, I would get a strong signal. If it was worth digging I did, if not I just covered the area back up and continued on. The T2 is pretty good a differentiating between good and bad targets, IMO. It's a DEEP machine that's for sure.

tough but challenging conditions! that's aluminum. but it is possible to pull some nice stuff in the snow.2 years ago I dug this in 6 inches of the white stuff ;)
