I drive through there enough I might be able to stop at their library and find more photos giving more clues.

You’re right about both of those things Dennis...odds are you won’t find one. And...you never know what’s going to be in the next hole! I’m not betting against you though after last year!:lol:

they were minted coins and distributed in the US, they then became illegal after congress passed a law prohibiting the issue of any one or two cent coins tokens or devices.

Got out a couple of times between our late year snowstorms. This is the oldest coin I have ever found, except for the Roman coin I detected a few years ago.

It snowed 10" overnight, and more is predicted. Guess It'll be awhile.

OK Mick,the question is...did you find it this year in one of your recent hunts or is the large cent something you found awhile ago,like,not in 2018?
 
Been a tough year for me so far. Only one coin in the 1800's. Hope everyone is doing better

I’m glad the Groundhog bumped this back up,it’s a reminder that Mick is still leading with the 1843 Largie and we have 1 month to go! Once we get that snap frost be sure to pillage your oldest sites for a shot at being the YEAR 3 winner!
Congrats to all who have made those great finds so far this year,it keeps getting more difficult as time goes by!
