2 100 year old coins stuck together

IDX Monster and you're some kind of youtube expert. Please tell me and my successful channel and thousands of followers who have enjoyed 9 years of adventures including over 260 Metal detecting outings what makes a good youtube video. I'm just dying for you to teach me.

Get serious. Your opinion of what makes a good youtube video means as much to me as your negative post. For the record I have done review vids and posted here including one just last week on the simplex...huh oh wait what...we didn't know that...because non of us actually watch the videos we like to complain about.

You know what....I"m not going anywhere and those of you who don't like videos can just eat it up...I'll continue to make quality videos and don't worry I'll post everyone of them here for the ones who are positive and FRIENDLY. I've always thought it funny the name of this forum...because this isn't the first time I've had this issue with the negativity train here.

For those of you that posted on this topic and were not negative I apologize because I grouped all of the haters in with you guys. If you were positive or gave constructive criticism. Thank you. I won't let these old arm chair gas bags drive me off. Come see me IDX Monster if you'd like some tips on what makes a successful Youtube video or if you'd just like some pointers on treating people with respect for all the hard work they do!

Oh and for those of you that didn't check the other video its under all about detectors. A kruzer user tries the simplex ...enjoy...hell watch it twice...I apparently need the views.

I don't really care if you like pics more than videos....However stating that by posting a video to the forum suggesting one is not contributing is BS and I will call it as I see it....

Here's my constructive criticism, Fivepin. It isn't the posting of the video links alone that's causing the blowback here...sure, videos can be a fantastic contribution to the site. I think it's the monetization of the videos combined with the optics of your posting history that's getting under people's skin and causing the blowback here.

I used the advanced search function on this forum and here's what I see: A forum member whose only posts are new threads which showcase a link to his own YouTube page, which is monetized. The exception to that fact is the forum member very occasionally also responds to comments left by other members within his own created thread in response to the monetized video, much like what has occurred in this thread. The forum member has zero posts in threads created by other members. I'm sure I'm not the only forum member who has noticed this, and hopefully you can objectively understand that, regardless of what your true intentions are, the optics look bad from that standpoint. One person's "contribution" is another person's "advertising".

Anyway, I'll let the moderators decide whether that kind of activity history is a violation of forum rule #5: "Promoting a Metal Detecting Website/Blog/Product- FMDF is not a "free for all" to help businesses and individuals promote a website, or to make money." Personally, I don't care, and I certainly don't begrudge your ability to put together a successful channel and monetize it. I personally just treat your posts like billboards on a road, advertisements to be ignored.

But here's my suggestion if you're still reading, because, again, my only intent here is constructive criticism. If you care to limit the blowback, post once in awhile in other people's threads and/or create an occasional thread without video links - contribute something other than links to your own monetized videos. It helps show you care about the rest of the community here, and that you really aren't just here to funnel traffic to your monetized YouTube channel. Or you can certainly carry on as you have been, it's certainly no skin off my back - just realize you lose the ability to get indignant when someone suggests that you're merely advertising, because it sure looks that way if you don't choose to put in the additional effort.

Just my constructive criticism - I wish you and your channel well.

This is exactly what I was trying to say with less words, but you did a much better job describing the whole picture Airmet.

:facepalm:I posted a one sentence reply that i prefer photos to youtube links. And find myself labeled an old arm chair gas bag hater. Wow!

Addendum: i just watched the video. It is primarily an instructional video for the Simplex+. I have seen and enjoyed videos on youtube by this fellow. I find them to be helpful in learning the machine.

For non-Simplex+ owners who are only interested in the two coins stuck together i would suggest you fastforward thru the first 11 minutes of the 15 minute video.

It would have been more accurate to post the link under how to use your detector rather than stories and pictures of finds, especially since the post did not contain a story or picture.
