A deceased friend gave me two metal detectors a few years back. The first is a White's IDX Pro (Black Max 950 coil). The second is a White's Prizm V (Prizm 950 coil). Both are approximately 15-20 years old. I would like to keep the better of the two detectors and sell the other one. I have never used either of them but would like to start searching once spring arrives. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Without a DOUBT, good call Wood. The Prizm works on a weird freq that doesn’t support many coils, the IDX uses anything running 6.59khz. The IDX Pro was my workhorse from when I started and for 2.5 years. It taught me extremely good “metal detecting basics” which I use to this day. Price for the Prizm maybe 150-200$? Not sure, it’s just a guestimate.
Also….the Black Max 950 coil is really really REALLY good. There is more to the IDX than some people realize, have fun learning what it does! That is all the advice I will offer…
