What Was Your Grossest Find?

I found an ammo box, opened it and inside was a bunch of pics from a porn mag, a female pleasuring tool and a bottle of lotion. I left it there. Also found the freshly chewed on remains of a deer. Also left it there.

A few weeks ago I was digging in a public park and got a great signal at the base of a tree. I got digging and quickly found that someone had buried an old cookie tin!! I was super excited because it looked like someone really tried to hide it away. Opened it up and there was someone’s pet rat rotting away inside hahahaha. It was gross!

Was it old?

Hope you set up a trail cam.

You know, it's interesting. After a lifetime of outdoor activity, military experience, in and assisting auto/motorcycle accidents, "gross" has little effect on me anymore. What many would find upsetting, I find are just part of the journey. Found a human femur once, buried dentures, buried animals, decomposing animals of all sorts, rotting whales and other sea creatures. Unpleasant smells yes, gross, not so much.
But, to contribute, the worst smell, we were salvaging an abandoned boat. Onboard was a cooler. You have smelled nothing as bad as a cooler full of festering, 85 degree squid baits fermenting in their own juices.
I also worked for Roto Rooter (sewer cleaning) for about 5 years. Maybe that's when I lost my "that's gross" sensation.

In the back corner of a public park just laying on the grass was a used tampon and beside it a plastic applicator for inserting the new one.

WARNING:Post contains pictures not suitable for young children!!! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED

Found this June 2 hunting an early 1900’s site. DC6B1970-4B27-4E7F-BECA-73AFF1542F77.jpg

A couple of weeks ago used condom on beach.. yea that didn’t get picked up or added to my trash bag...

I found my dog chewing on the rotten, slimey, gray meat leg of a dead dog. That was my grossest find ever.

I dug up our childhood dogs' ashes when I first started detecting. It was at our hunting house in NY and I didn't realize she was buried up there. My Fisher F70 at the time sounded off on the collar which was in the hole with the ashes and the remnants of the can they were in. I pulled out the chain thinking I found something awesome, looked down and saw a tag hanging off. It didn't say Tiffany & Co. It said "beloved Scout" I freaked out and buried it again but not before spilling half the ashes all over the place

My brother dug up some Voodoo stuff several years ago. Also a rifle in a bag at a ghetto park lol.

I scooped an old human humerus bone out of a drowned river mouth lake a few years ago. There was old Indian camps long long ago and French and Indian War battles in the area in the 1700's so it wasn't a big surprise to find a bone there.
I gave it a little salute and threw it back.

I was in the middle of the woods last week and found this almost full can. No , I didn't save it.
It was actually about four inches in the soil and gave a pretty good signal.
When considering all the poison ivy in the area, I hope the original users were wearing protection!
