THE DESU 2 WS6 IS HANDS DOWN THE MOST BANG FOR YOUR BUCK BAR NONE...

Minelab Equinox 800, Equinox 900, Manticore, XP Deus 2 and even the Nokta Legend are all best at one aspect of detecting. Not one single detector among those 5 is currently the best at everything in my opinion and I have owned and used four of the five.

I had the WS6 Master setup with 9" coil for awhile. Even with the new Deus 2 update, the larger remote can still do a lot of things that the WS6 as Master just can't do. If a person can actually see the WS6 display and likes to hunt just on land by audio only, Deus 2 with WS6 as Master would be a great choice for coin and jewelry hunting in modern trash and for relic/older coins in iron trash.

NO ONE OUT THERE HAS A MACHINE FOR THAT KIND OF MONEY, THAT WILO DO WHAT THE WS6 DOES, BIGGEST DRAW BACK.... SMALL SCREEN. PERSONALLY I USE NO SCREEN I HAVE THE FULL SET UP AND HUNT BY SOUND ALONE.
You can also have big numbers on the WS6 master after you set it up how want to run it then put the big numbers on . I do that a lot .

TRUE....ADD 500 AND YOU CAN HAVE BIG NUMBERS, BUT IF YOUR ON A BUDGET THE WS6 WILL DO EVERYTHING THE CONTROLLER WILL
WS6 has one available notch. Remote has three.

WS6 puts saved programs next to original program with only one saved program per original program. Remote saved programs can go in any order chosen by the user and multiple programs can be saved based off of one original program.

WS6 has the horseshoe graph display screen. Remote has horseshoe graph and XY graph display screen.

WS6 is not water proof and can't dive to 60+ feet even if it is put in a waterproof container. Remote is fully waterproof and can dive to 60+ feet.

I could keep going........

So the difference is more than just big numbers which actually can be used on the WS6 like one person said.

I personally don't like the puck. Pain to use. Squeeze these two buttons, blah blah blah. They need to sell a deus ll without the puck option. FWIW I started using the 9 inch coil with the new update. Working a lot better than my 11" coil. Haven't started using the 13" coil with it yet. Picked off a small gold earring and other small earrings first time out. Runs in the ocean a lot better. Beginning to wonder if the 11" coil has always had an issue. Gonna run the 9" on the beach a month and see what happens.

Agreed... but depth, and separation are the same... For 800....maybe the Legend could compete?.. I have no reference on that machine... check out my latest video I posted last night. the very same setting I used can be also used on the WS6 alone

No pinpoint feature in the deus lite set-up,that kills it for me. I use pinpoint for sizing and pass up a lot of iron, junk etc with that feature. For $800 that's something XP could of incorporated, seeming starter machines at $150 have pinpoint

Ws6 puck on the stem with the new style wsa2 backphones and large tid readout is all I ever needed out of the deus 2. Program 4 full tones and square audio. I updated mine when I got it initially to the .71 firmware for the larger numbers on the puck. Had the full set up. Left the remote at home 90% of the time. Yes it has pinpoint too. Awesome set up for the money as well.

When I go back to another deus 2 it will be that set up. Light fast and fun. Goes just as deep as full remote.

I highly recommend that set up.

While I love the XP DEUS II I need the remote with mine. My old eyes can't see the ws-6 puck #'s. lol

WS6 has more than 1 notch option with both versions — 1.00 and 1.10.

thanks to tnsharpshooter and Silver Saver for correcting me on the addition of 3 notches for the WS6 puck in the latest software versions. XP really do listen and try to make things right in their software updates.

Hello,

Been reading for a few days now and trying to isolate the unit I want to buy. I have narrowed it down to two detectors, the

DEUS 2 WS6 and the Minelab Equinox 900. (or any other one I may be overlooking)

I am primarily looking to use it as a gold detector for dry land and shallow waters on my extended trip out West.

Anything you can provide to narrow down the choice would be appreciated.
