Possible issues with AT PRO

That's what mine did and Brad sent me a new coil and I got it in 4 days. Fixed the problem, also I thought it had good depth before but with a good coil WOW:D.

Well I sent my at pro in for service and brad at garrett will have it back to me by tom. He said they replace a circuit board and replacing the coil. Brad was more than helpful and provided great service.

I talked to brad at garrett and I am going to try a few things this weekend, if not it will be going in to be checked out. For those who use pro mode, does the audio sound much lower than the sounds in std mode.

In pro mode, your tone loudness will all depend on the size of the target and the depth.

The audio does seem harder to decipher/understand/hear in pro mode, but with the headphones and the ability to control the volume, it's a world of difference. Also remember in pro mode the proportional audio is on, so only targets close to the surface are going to sound off the loudest. I was air testing today and a quarter at 2" gives a very high tone in pro mode comparable to the bell tone in std mode regardless of depth. At 8-10" in pro mode, it's still a high tone, but much lower volume. Personally, I think pro mode was designed specifically with the headphones in mind. It's an entire language to learn, especially once you add the iron audio on top of everything. My unseasoned $.02 :)

I have just gotten into the Pro mode side of the machine recently and it does have its learning curve. The sound will differ as distance between coil and object change. It actually becomes a pretty handy tool once you get used to it. Headphones are a must in pro, even if around the neck. Once I got used to the "ways" of the machine in Pro mode I haven't even thought about standard. Trashy areas can be intimidating in pro but once you slow things down and remember to swing in different directions over different tones distinguishing between targets really becomes easier. I went back over my own front yard in pro after hitting in in standard and pulled out more coins than my prior passes. What I thought was trashy readings in standard popped out in pro as valid targets once i got accustomed to the tones varying and learning a better pattern. Hope my little bit of experience with my machine helps. And on Garretts customer service, Top-Notch! I have no worries about the purchases I have made knowing what I know now about the way they treat customers. I have been to the facility about 4 times and have been treated like I had spent tons of cash with them. They are great to deal with. Thank you Sue!
