I have just gotten into the Pro mode side of the machine recently and it does have its learning curve. The sound will differ as distance between coil and object change. It actually becomes a pretty handy tool once you get used to it. Headphones are a must in pro, even if around the neck. Once I got used to the "ways" of the machine in Pro mode I haven't even thought about standard. Trashy areas can be intimidating in pro but once you slow things down and remember to swing in different directions over different tones distinguishing between targets really becomes easier. I went back over my own front yard in pro after hitting in in standard and pulled out more coins than my prior passes. What I thought was trashy readings in standard popped out in pro as valid targets once i got accustomed to the tones varying and learning a better pattern. Hope my little bit of experience with my machine helps. And on Garretts customer service, Top-Notch! I have no worries about the purchases I have made knowing what I know now about the way they treat customers. I have been to the facility about 4 times and have been treated like I had spent tons of cash with them. They are great to deal with. Thank you Sue!
