Online metal detecting course? Are you serious, NuggetNoggin?

If he is willing to offer the classes, and people are willing to pay him for it, than more power to him.

The problem is that his spiel in the video comes across as being a carnival barker and a huckster. Like his online course is going to change my life! Really? Get a grip, Nugget.

I was referring to his U.S. finds. If I could afford to go to the UK, I'd find some amazing stuff as well. Sorry, but he's hardly the person to be charging for his "vast" knowledge and claiming it will be the ultimate online metal detecting course "in the world". The beginning of his latest video definitely reminds me of P.T. Barnum...

Yeah, the kid lays it on pretty thick in his spiel at the beginning of the vid. I here ya, but I'm OK with him doing his thing there. I say: "Good luck...see ya!"

Yes, you can learn all that online. Golf instruction videos are all over the internet, so are fishing tutorials. I learned a lot about my atpro from videos. If it wasn't for onine instruction videos I wouldn't know as much as I do about my TRX, [manual sucks}. I have fixed all kinds of appliances and done many car repairs I would not have been able to do without online learning. Hanging out here has been a learning experience as well.

Nothing will help a beginning detectorist more than time digging, but learning the basics, and common mistakes beginners make before you start can be helpful. Practicing a improper swing doesn't help in golf or detecting. I would not pay for online detecting classes from nugget, but I can't find any fault with someone buying or selling classes. If digging with Brit offers classes I'll sign right up. I'm sure she could teach me something.

I'm not a big fan of his videos, I do watch them but it's because the wife watches him. I think she's a little sweet on him.

I get the feeling your wife isn't the only woman who kinda-has-a-thing for him.

Do you get this annoyed at other forms of marketing fluff? I'm not saying you're wrong for feeling this way, but it seems like you have a particular gripe with Nugget. It's as if his "salesmanship" bothers you more than salesmanship coming from someone (or somewhere) else.

He has always reminded me of all the televangelists out there, which annoys me. Don't push your religious beliefs on people who just want to watch a metal detecting video. The intro to his latest video shows exactly what I am talking about. I can change your life! Just send me your money! LOL!

Except Nugget's ex-girlfriend Abby. Guess she got tired of the PTL speeches all the time. I stopped watching his videos after she dumped him.

Oh, I hear ya. His religious stuff is one of the things that keeps me from watching his videos. Yes, he has every right to say and do what he wants, just like I have every right to ignore what he says or does.

But I'm not going to fault him for trying to make a buck or two selling online classes.

Why, what happened after they broke up? He got more religious? Or was Abby the only reason you were watching his videos to being with? (joking). :cool3:

Ok. Now I got to check it out. What's the site called ...Nugget Numbskull ?

Abby was the only interesting thing about his videos. Very cute girl. And, yes, he did seem to get more religious after she left.

Ya, heaven forbid that there are people who aren't afraid to express there faith. Why is your lack of faith any more valid than his faith. Hypocracy.

Express it all you want, just don't go off the deep end with it and expect people to listen to you.

No one ever said anything about someone else's faith (or their desire to express it) as being wrong or any less valid. Some of us just prefer not to hear it.

Just like NuggetNoggin or others can choose to express it, others can choose to avoid it.

Here's a link to his YouTube page. Too preachy for me.

Ok. Nugget Noggin. I just kinda watched it. 1st video that pops up is River Treasure. He's got an opening scripture , cool. I can use a little of that , no big deal.

Opening scene the camera pans down in the river and he spots a working camera. AFTER THE FACT. Then he travels down stream and says "look what I found , a ring , I already picked it up" as the camera goes underwater and he retrieves it. AGAIN , AFTER THE FACT.

That's where I had enough. I didn't even get to check out his ex-gf. Nor do I care. This is my problem with the majority of these video's and people trying to make a buck. Staged and fake. Just not honest , and he's preaching ? He's going to hell...I will pray for him....not. Maybe he has a disclaimer at the end confessing his sins. I will never know.

Now if it's some bloopers , pranksters , ultimate fails or other do not try this at home stuff : Great ! It's cringeworthy comedy that we all know is staged for views. But not deceptive MD'ING videos where they try to be serious and I know otherwise.

You've got a more critical eye than me. I just watched the part of the video you're referring to and I see what you mean. My gut reaction was to believe him, but you're right. Who walks through a river/creek and seeing a blurry blue object and assumes it's a waterproof camera? Hmmm, kinda makesya wunduh.

I don't know any of you, including Nugget, but I have to say that after watching a few of his videos, he seems like a good kid, and he sure wouldn't be involved in character assassination like you fellas. In fact, I think this country could use a few more young men like him. JMO

Glad you caught it. With my training and profiling , this kind of stuff is easy to spot.
Let's open with a verse ! A prayer !
Well...then it must all be true !
The horse racing community calls it "past posting".

If he found a way to personally make money on the internet then power to him.
I can tell you that bad things can come from that. When the internet first started I used to make from $1000-$2000 a day off of internet sales. However, it is to easy for others to steal it and repost it as theirs. Now in the same occupation I make between $300-$500 for doing the same work.
If metal detecting got popular nugget head or whoever he is would find out what I mean. Make it while you can.
