Nokta makro smf live launch!

Everyone seems to think this will be an equinox 800 alternative. But I sure hope they somehow cram a ctx in the simplex package at a cheaper price.

I just ordered a new 800.
My decision was solely based on the positive experiences Mrs. atomicbrh has had with her Vanquish 340 in the past few months. We needed another detector for beach trips. We thought about the 540 but decided by the time you pay for a wireless pro package, we might as well spend a little more and get the 800.
There's quite a difference between a V-540 Pro Pack to get the wireless headphones and the 9X12 DD coil and 5X8 DD coil and the EQ-800.

We are going to wait a period of time before we try the Nokta/Makro to see if it has any hiccups. That waiting period will be very short if the price is real cheap. I have not had much success with products from Turkey in a nonelectric industry.
What do you consider to be "real cheap", and why would the make an upper-end model to compete with the EQ-800 if it wasn't reasonable close and competitive in price?

If you wanted "real cheap" or 'bargain-price' for a water unit, you could have snagged a Simplex + and saved some $$$.

I have been using the Turkey-made FORS CoRe, FORS Relic, Racer, Racer 2, Impact, Multi-Kruzer, Anfibio Multi, and the Gold Plus and Racer Gold prospecting units, as well as 4 different Pinpointers since January of '15 w/o any major concerns. I don't antipathy any with their pending SMF.

I don't 'need' a new detector, but really do wish to upgrade. I figure I can wait a bit and see what this one brings before making my decision on this or the 800. I am sure I would be happy either way though.

All of the name brand detectors currently being manufactured are great detectors. You cannot go wrong with any of them. We were just short a backup detector for all beach conditions. Hate to have that one detector stop working and not be able to detect after driving quite a distance.

Monte, sent you a pm.

Been waiting for this for years, looking forward to what they bring to the party!

They’d do well to skip the equinox competition and make a waterproof Etrac type machine at equinox 800 price.

It's unlikely they could match the Etrac technology. I think most people dont realize
just how good the Etrac is as a coin/silver machine. Sad to see it taken off the market.
It takes a long long time to really learn the Etrac and that's probably one of the reasons it
was losing it's market share and interest.

.

If it does in fact match the equinox 800, I may just sell my equinox to get one. I use the simplex and the equinox. My shoulder and back kill me after using the equinox. The grip angle doesn’t work for me at all. The simplex feel is great though.

I also think the simplex has a much better grip angle and more comfortable than equinox.

The Etrac is a Cadillac in this hobbie, from the hum of the threshold to the sound on silver , just a luxury machine. Everything else is more of a ratrod compared to it in my book.

Without a doubt. For coin hunting it is king.

If your a relic hunter, hunting mostly fields
then the Etrac probably isn't the machine for you
and you'd be better off with the Nox or the Deus.

Just watched the launch event. It looks like the price is competitive for the new machine, the Legend.

Basic pack -- 11" coil, BT headphones. ($750 msrp) est $630 retail
Pro pack -- 11" coil, 6" coil, BT headphones, spare battery. ($899 msrp) est $765 retail

Hopefully it will start making it to distributors next month and people will get some real world testing in... so I can then buy one! Pro pack will be the way for me I think.

No doubt nokta/ makro will be a success, every machine they've come out with is great.

I would agree with this statement with the exception of the "Racer", I never dug so much foil in my life.
Other than that I have owned many of their units and was even a field tester for the Kruzer model.

It is some hip marketing.
I was amused by the scene with the rejection of the bottle cap by the Legend and the emotions of the obvious 800 user digging it up.
N/M marketing knows how to exploit that scenario.
