Hi everyone,

I have a Garret AT Pro metal detector. I am trying to use it, but I can’t find the setting that would help me from digging trash and nothing helpful. I am tone deaf and distinguishing between beeps is truly frustrating.

I am thinking about changing my metal detector and getting a 3D metal detector. I read about lots of reviews and kind of settle down on Nokta Makro Deephunter 3D Pro

Does anyone have any experience with it? Any recommendations?

Thank you,

Yelena

Is that a legit link? It looks suspect, and you only have one post. Admin, delete this if I'm out of bounds.

BTW i don't ask anyone to click on the link. PLEASE don't. All I want to know if someone has it and what is their opinion on this particular metal detector.
I didn't realize that it came as a link.
Just asking for some advice. NOTHING else

I think you should look for a detector with VIBRATION like a Nokta Legend or Simplex.

Not an expert, but the biggest catches for me on the Deephunter would be price and the weight. With the smallest coil you’d be swinging over 7 pounds and with the biggest, I think it’s over 20 pounds. On the other hand, the Garret GTI 2500 is a few thousand cheaper and 6 pounds.

Still, I like my Simplex. Cheap, light and waterproof. 😁

I know. Not the lightest of detectors, but I want something different as a different visual detector. At least this one doesn't cost 34K lol.
thank you. I appreciate you input. Forgot about the 20-pound coil. oghhh

Hi Yelena.

There is no need to distinguish between beeps.

If you want to find gold rings, you have to dig a hell of a lot of aluminum trash. That is true no matter how experienced one is, how expensive their metal detector is, or how good their hearing is :)

If you want to dig coins only, then notch discriminate your detector accordingly. You'll get a lot of coins that way, and very little trash.

minelab manticore, you will still dig aluminum to find rings, but dig less iron.

thank you, I will look into it.

Thank you. I will look into that

and this is from Google. relatively insensitive to differences in musical pitch. So when my metal detector beeps in different ways I have hard time dealing with it
I know what tone deaf means.

My post about learning the difference between deaf and tone deaf, was meant for the member "Raid", who suggested a detector with a vibrate feature. Raid thought you were deaf.
