Did you ever run your Equinox in 5, 10 or 15 kHz? That is basically what you get with the X-Terra Pro. An Equinox 700 but with 4 single frequency options, a slightly wider (more forgiving) ground balance range for its Beach mode and the big ones......it really is waterproof, has a nice shaft system and it uses Equinox coils. No Multi IQ operation or settings included on the XTPro. So, if you are a person that doesn't need simultaneous multi frequency operation but really likes the Equinox/Manticore platform and wants a simple to use selectable single frequency detector for a backup, or if you are a diver, or if you are a newbie, the X-Terra Pro makes sense. If there is any level of iron mineralization in your ground, the X-Terra Pro is going to struggle just like the Equinox, Manticore, Legend, Deus 2 if they are switched to single frequency operation.Mark , what do you compare the Exterra to ? As to someone asking for advice- like a newbee , I own top end machines , so I wouldn't know, but would like to know how good that low end machine is, for someone who has had the machine , I would bet that the machine was just to compete for the LOW end market , Earl
If you already have an Equinox 700, 900 or Manticore you have an X-Terra Pro living inside those detectors already. Just switch to single frequency and see how you like it.
