Thanks Maxx! I also have an Etrac for really long field hunts but I don't use it as much. I'm a pretty big guy so the CTX doesn't wear me out too fast although I did swing it for 6 hours straight one hunt and I couldn't hardly lift my arm afterward! It is a beast though when it comes to finding silver! It would be awesome like you said though if they'd make a lighter version.Wow, what a great hunt. If you can tolerate swinging the CTX (I could not, too heavy for me for more than an hour) it will really lock on sold to silver. Loved the CTX, but too heavy for me. I would sure like Minelab to just make a light weight CTX3030. Don't change anything else on it, just the weight. Again, supper hunt.
Thanks DIG! I couldn't believe the luck I was having that day! Mother Nature had a tough time taking them as everything was nearly on the surface I think because of the grass roots in the original Prairie sod. The Barber quarter, the SLQ and the pennies were all right on the surface....maybe 1/4" deep. Those are some beautiful coins, TP. Way to go. You rescued them from the grasp of Mother Earth.
Thanks Cfmct! The larger more yellow one is my own wedding ring in the picture for color comparison.Very nice old gold rings... I love seeing them... that is all I hunt for but in the water at old spots that used to be beaches... congrats..
Thanks Kansas! I've had a lot of luck the dozen times I've been out this year so far.....I hope it continues!Good post, incredible finds! Congrats but I am very jealous!
Thanks Geo! I couldn't believe how many nice, old coins were out there!Incredible hunt. Congrats!!!
Thanks 60! I've always wanted to fig one, especially one that fancy!Beautiful signet ring! Congrats!
Thanks chill! I wasn't meaning to offend.Incredible finds. Now I'm going to be the downer. I know that not everyone who posts here is a Christian, and I get that, unfortunately, the use of the Lords name is used way too commonly in various creative ways that in the eyes, and ears of a Christian are offensive. I'm not calling out thr OP specifically, I would just ask that folks would be considerate of other people's deeply held beliefs. I hope this doesn't cause a big uproar, just think about what I'm saying. Peace be with you. And again, incredible finds, I'd be satisfied with coming home with one of those finds. Thanks for sharing.
I think it might be 10 karat but I think I'm going to take it by one of the jewellers in town to see if they can tell me for sure.Very nice condition coins! I bet the gold ring is 10 or 14k.
Yep! That place was insane! I would never have guessed there were that many good coins and that gold ring out there as it looked like the people who lived there weren't well off.....but maybe they weren't well off because all there money was in their yard.wow.wow.wow, in one day you get all that!
Thanks itsaring! That ring is forever going to remain the way it came out of the ground. It's got about the same color as rose gold.Way to go! Gold rings can change color in the ground. Could be 14K? But that is one I wouldn't polish to see if you can get to look like your wedding band. FWIW Gold signet rings have more value than an average plain band. People collect those and even class rings.
