Hey everyone in looking to get into this hobby with my wife and had a few things in mind. I will mostly be doing rivers and forests with some beach use. I was considering a bundle on amazon of the AT Pro and the pro pointer for $764 with a bunch of other items. I had this in mind because I can finance it for 12 months no interest. Would this be a good first buy?

Give Bart a call or one of our sponsors. May give you a better deal and will also help get you the MD catered to your needs

Before you buy anywhere, check with the sponsors of this forum at http://metaldetectingforum.com/sponsors.php . The link is also at the top right of the page.

Tell them you are a member here and most likely they will be able to make you a better offer, and also answer any questions you have ( and probably some you haven't thought of yet ). Talk with several and have them bid against each other. I have seen many posts talking about the great deals they have got by doing this.

Oh, and welcome to the madness that is detecting. :D

It is a really nice detector! But that price is a bit much for me.

Looks like MAP Price you are paying here...to much...call or text the dealers for a better price

Sounds like a good choice for your hunting needs. Definitely call (don't text - actually call) a sponsor and you may get a better deal, but I don't know about financing. I've had great experiences with Bart at Big Boys Hobbies. Good luck!

Definitely need to call a sponsor, you will get a much better deal!

As mentioned by several already you'll get a better deal and personal service from the forums sponsors. Don't expect much from the freebees kicked in by the manufactures in most cases they usually aren't worth much.
