Mud in Mayberry

Mud's friends Otis and Ernest T got Mayberry to welcome him as a famous clown detectorist :laughing::laughing:

After Mud sells his house as is free to travel the country, maybe he will go in search of the Mayberry we all grew up with. I am sure there are lots of real small town like that still out there, where people know their neighbors , don't have to lock their doors at night. A slower simpler life sounds more appealing every day as we watch the news. Of course even if we could find Mayberry could we get the wifes to give up big city life as in Green Acres .

Mud & Ken at the bank

Mud taking his daily detecting haul to the bank ? (and Ken leaving after depositing his coins ?):laughing::laughing:

Wonder how many coins you would have to deposit to get that free AT PRO, going to finally see some decent weather this week want to get out and going for 2018 ,only have 1 small short hunt this year so far. Between the rain and cold and snow was thinking spring would not get here.

Soooo! HE'S the one who keeps raiding my local Coinstar!! I might'a known.

Me and Mrs Mud actually went to WallyWorld yesterday!...It was an unusual event, we even mastered the 'self check out' masheen!...I wandered around, pushed the cart, didnt even bother to check the Coinstar! She eyeballed a parking lot penny on the way to the car! Yesss!

Then, I took her out to Dinner at the Sams Club on the way home...we walked around and ate the free samples...I bought a pineapple for $3....She spent some time in the clothing dept like normal...I excused myself for a moment and stuffed a $1.50 hotdog down my pie hole, wrapper and all...Yeah!..Date night!

Gary really did a great job on this photo edit, I try to check the machine when the wife isn't with me. Though i have got pretty good at rolling the grocery cart in front of the Coinstar and sliding my hand in as i go by. Now that i am retired i now do most of the food shopping and that helps.

Sounds like ourweekend trips to Costco

We go to Costco instead of Sam's Club to stock up , love their all beef hot dog & soda for $1.50 , always glad to run by there to pick up some thing the wife wants. Lots of free samples espically on the weekend , now if they would just get a Coinstar machine to check by the door.

Mud gave me an Idea..
After I get some yard work done, I can take my wife out to eat at Cosco.
I keep making rounds while the wife shops..
I also Like their hot dogs..

KEN :D

Yeah! In the condiment area, they have those little packages of hot peppers for the people that buy a slice of pizza..freaking awesome on a hotdog! Plus, a guy can take a few pkgs home to spice up the Custome Tomatoe soup I make out of the ketchup pkgs I scarf from the Burger King! I will say, Arbys has about the best off the shelf free condiments..'horsey sauce' and all that...Heck, a guy can eat good and live pretty cheap with a roadkilled squirrel and some horsey sauce...a guy doesnt even have to ever buy any toilet paper if he grabs a riff of free napkins!

This is one great Country! I love it! All sorts of free money, clothes and food laying around all over the place! Its about more than a guy can handle, but I do my best!

Who says there is no such thing as a free lunch.

I found a Road kill Plastic Easter Egg the other day with a wrapped up Lemonhead still inside.. Does that Count?

Certainly! Great Score! Reminds me of a story! The guy that lives next door to me, Old guy, retired, all conservative and buttoned up to the collar, has about 20 grandkids...Well, every Easter they all come on over and Granddad puts on an Easter egg hunt...A few years ago, Easter Sunday, super early in the gloaming, I noticed him out setting eggs, and I thought how cool is this! anyway, for some strange reason, after he tottered back into his house, I went and snatched a few!

I took those eggs and put them on the countertop so my Wife could find them, then I went out hunting for pennies!...So I get home a few hours later, and the day is is full swing, the Wife gets up and thinks I'm a peach for setting out some Easter Eggs for her! One had a $5 bill inside! I nearly fell over! What the Hell?! It was too late for me to go out and re-plant it unnoticed, so I let it ride and took the credit...So yeah, you just never know!

I have always wondered how much money I missed, and if that old guy suspects me....

You should slip some extra Easter eggs in on the next hunt he has , but fill them with odds and ends from your hunts like tokens ,foreign coins , junk jewelry and let them figure out where they came from could be amusing.

Wouldn't be surprised if we see a post now by Gary, with Mud out there stealing Easter eggs from little kids . I guess that would make him the Easter Grinch, he might even replace the coins with pull tabs in side the eggs.:laughing:
