Deus 2 on the beach?

The loud skidmarks you hear and smell are from my shorts , as they are now soiled from "the number of gold rings found means very little". Well.....it maybe not the numbers but the weight of my gold at the end of the year means everything to me. Lol.

I will say , I do in general like some of his recent tests. Some of the settings are a bit skewed and I'm not clear on in the comparisons. Many beaches here , the Nox is hard to run in beach 1 in the wet , very chatty. Yet he does on his beach. Only thing for 100% certainty that the Deus is better at right now is the 5 yr warranty. I'm still not clear on the whole coil wire setup for in and out of water hunting if that's needed.

To a beach hunter that is what its all about... we aren't in this end of the hobby to find coins... if I wanted coins I would dirt hunt more...

I go to the beach hunting for gold everything else is just part of the process...

You all missed the whole point.
The numbers are important.

But what if a person can hunt less time and find as many using Deus 2 on average?

Depth and stability of VLF unit. I thought these were important to beach hunters..... Guess not.
Plus like I said some additional unmasking and separation near ferrous as a bonus.

We don’t Know what we don’t know lots of times (as far as what’s buried) until better performing detector comes along. Fact!!!

Naturally I’ll be watching. Let’s see in 1-2 years which beach detector is the talk of the town.

Well... maybe to some but not to me... I hunt by tone... numbers are not that important other than to check screen once target is found and identified... I never cared for detectors with a screen to much its why I loved the Sov GT and the Excal... simple yet very good tones... perfect for beach hunting.

As to what detector is top dog... what does that matter? They all will find gold. They are proven detectors and who knows maybe ML or someone else will come out with something else or a new brand all together...

I play some with the numbers in the wet , and dry , but not so much in the water , this is why some run the Equinox & CTX in that area , detectors without a screen most water hunter's use- Excalibur , DF, a few Fisher's , Aqua Pulse , It is good for Deus to get in the ball game , but that's how it is , in the water-- tone's , no screen is mostly used , let me add , a less aggressive tone , softer sweet gold tone like on the Excalibur is wanted , the Deus aggressive tones are ok for the relic hunter's and on land , but blow a water hunter up, most using head phones with air tight ear pads , even though Deus jumped in the beach ball game , they failed to make some adjustments water hunter's like , they will sell , but won't be like the Equinox sales in my opinion . Improvements should come , at least I give the French credit , unlike the AQ , all hype , still not out

I found the Deus tones ok Earl... its a new detector... I'm going to sit back and let it all play out... I'm not jumping on any bandwagon just yet...

Beach machines get abused a lot more than a dirt machine... I'm always banging into rocks and boulders... if it can hold up great...

Remember when the NOX came out same type of hype also we heard the same with the AQ... NOX is not a water detector... its too fragile the coil ears as well as the leaking issues... I bought mine for dirt but decided to try it at a few old worked over spots I have and done ok..

Who hunts less time when finding gold.. it's the other way around..the more we find, the more we want..:woohoo:

You sure got that right. I can tell a few here or on recent videos are probably not real hardcore beachhunters. Maybe good all around testers or hunters. But if I find gold , especially early in a hunt , i stay out that much longer. Where some in a video say " well , i guess i can go home now". I just laugh...

+2.. although after that 5 gold hunt I had after Sandy came through... I could have hunted longer but I decided to call it a day following day found 3 more... ;)

You probably like beagles to , the louder the better? , my fault for not picking up the Deus , CTX3030 , I grab the Equinox for beach hunting and the Excalibur when I want to venture into the water a bit , I mean Deus 2 , they had a chance to tone down the tones a tad , sounds the same as the Deus original , if the battery is still in the coil along with the led indicator , I see that could be an issue also along with the salt water eating at the metal at the point on the coil when charging , it would be submerged in salt , were the Equinox charges , I have shaved corrosion off the prongs , just from salt air , I can see another version coming out , but no big deal , as I have plenty VLFs here , really waiting on a DEEP Pi to come out from ML that beats the TDI pro., and the fantasy AQ machine that never hit the street , I will only buy a specialty , proven , machine down the road , as I see Deus trying to jump on the Equinox sales , but failed to compete Price Wise , I will kick back , will wait on a THAT PI , surprised with the AQ failure , that ML hasn't had a man jump from a plane with one just yet :lol::takeoff::takeoff::takeoff::takeoff::waiting::stormy: I AM WAITING :money: Happy Hunting .

How did you know I liked beagles? I had 4 of them  I think the AQ would have succeeded if they had listened to your advice

Earl you need to stop playing on replenished sand beaches... its a !!!! shoot to score on beaches like that... go to library or historical society and look for area's that used to be beaches but are no longer used as swimming beaches.. if you get a storm hunt during it.. you may get lucky...

Back in Baltimore used to go Rabbit hunting with a man down the street , he had a female named Ginger and 3 other's , she could sniff any rabbit out , had alot of fun watching those dogs work in the brush , got used to the YAP YAP , when I go to the beach detecting , it's about having fun , the threshold on the Excalibur set at a light hum , and the Equinox chatter is enough , hope Joe didn't fall in another hole , he was back in neck deep yesturday  , ya I can do some research , might find something around here , have some work to do around here before the pup lands mid Feb ., I want to get it all done , & enjoy myself this year , more snow for you coming Friday bro ., keep the plow moving :snowtruck::snowtruck::snowtruck::snowtruck::snowtruck: , Earl:lol:

i have no chatter issues with the Nox first I have heard of it being chattery... nothing chattered like the Dual Field  I would love to find a mint Whites PI PRO I killed the gold with that model even though a lot of hunters didn't like them I loved mine... it ran smooth and deep...

+1 on that. One of the best ease of use/performance detectors out there.

I found more gold with the PI PRO then I did with the Dual Field... I'm still kicking myself for selling it to SeabeeRon  My first 5 years that PI PRO scored me 264 gold rings... I fell for all the hype you hear with each new detector that comes out...

Don't get my wrong I did very well with my Dual Field but its weakness was the large coil mine leaked 3 times but Whites was kind enough to replace them for me even though it was out of warranty...

Now I'm a different type of hunter.. I hunt area's I really would not want to hunt with a pulse not unless iron becomes more valuable than gold

When I use the Nox at these old spots its like a machine gun with the amount of iron at them... I used to take my Excal to these spots but was wearing out my PP switch prematurely

I'm waiting for temps to get above 32 so I can start hunting again after getting frostbite in my fingers I can't tolerate colder than 32 degrees...

My understanding is the Deus has the ability to change tones. You can switch to a friendlier "square" audio that sounds more like a Minelab than an XP. You can also use the equalizer to change the tones to a more personalized preference. I don't want to listen to the scratchy original XP sounds.

I had a DF as well as a few TDI's. That big coil was never a friend to me. Too hard to control as well as that coil being buoyant always had me shaking my head in disgust. Always had to have one of those coil stabilizers too. That coil no matter how tight you had the bolt on, would start to flip and flop without one.

Wish Whites had come out with a 9 inch DF coil that didn't float. That would have been nice. The PI Pro had less features but I think it was easier to tune and use.

I hear ya on trying to hunt iron laden beaches with a PI. Not for me anymore.

Sold off all my PI's except for my Infinium. It's the one PI I actually figured out how to use to it's fullest. Once I got used to the high/low and low/high signals, I could kinda figure out what it was trying to tell me. What I like about it is it's based on a gold hunting PI and it has a feature that allows you to find the best frequency to run for the smoothest signal.

With the mono coil, I found my best ring ever so I guess it has some luck hooked into it hence me keeping it. Haven't used it in a few years though. Heck, I don't even know if it still works !

Obn

We're is the AQ production model., they have had all the time in the world to get this machine out without bugs , You were a test guy for the AQ , it's time to man up , and tell members here the REAL.story , as some here waited so long , put on the back burner , than hung out to dry , only to get dry rot waiting for a hyped up pi that got dropped in the big black hole , time for the truth , the last piece of the puzzle, needed 4 closure , howboughtit :?::jail::pullhair::police::pirate2::friends:

Hey Craig do you think the PI Pro is deeper than the nox-forget about the deus2?

Can't speak for OBN but I have read on another forum that there is no expected date for the production version. There is a recommendation that the hardware needs to be resigned so the failure rate issue is resolved.

I can say that this detector is the deepest detector I have ever run when in all metal mode. As for discrimination mode it does work at certain depths. When I do run it in discrimination, I can hit a nickel with the proper tone deeper than the Nox. Discrimination is two tone and the dial is set for the break point. Deep items will put into the non gold tone.

That's interesting and a plus for the audio on the "AQ" reminded me of the excalibur in Pinpoint. One reason it was so easy for me to do well with the "AQ" right off.

Good to see your still with us Therover..I disliked both the DF and LS.. neither, I could never adjust to the audio.. something that concerns me with the Deus 2, now that I've heard you can fine tune it..

Come on Craig, "No kicking myself"....your one of the few I know that can find gold with anything! I would bet you could find it with a studbuddy.............
