Coin garden for grandkids

I marked of 2 10'*10' areas and salted each with 25 pennies, 1 dime, nickel and a quarter. Then my 12 year old granddaughter and my 6 year old grandson came for a visit. My granddaughter was going to town finding coins. Grandson got bored pretty quick and quit after 5 coins. I guess I should have just put his in top of the soil. The funny thing is I didn't put any of them deeper than 1-2" and some of them we dug down 3-4" to find them. I let them keep the coins.


I may have created one future detector fanatic. She lost her ring at her house, so Saturday I'll go over there and see if we can find it. They're not sure it's even metal. LOL
