Xtreme Titanium Scoop Fail (update 12/8)

KOB... you hear anything on the scoop from the maker?

I have been busy hunting quite a bit....for this is my time of the year. Along with all the other stuff going on. But this finally got shipped out this morning ! Priority mail....the cost was a whopping $46 !!! This is getting expensive. So I will continue to remain positive and optimistic. Hopefully I will do a good follow up. But I'm afraid this will happen again , even with a new titanium. Kinda like a Nox , once you flood a couple , you don't trust dunking it again.

If it has a 10 year warranty just use it until it tanks I would.. I have had scoops that looked way worse than that and continued to use it.

You are digging in sand and I dig in rocks...

But how many have you dropped 6 bones on and it shows wear in 6 months ? I never have and I think any reasonable person wouldn't be happy either.

Kob

46 dollars to ship the head , what's that 2 lbs  , Craigs wright little cut in the lip, I would have at least waited till your prime hunting season ends , anyway I'm sure John will make things wright , if it's not perfect I'll trade you a Sunspot 4 it  , Earl

That was your choice... I understand why you are upset. I would never spend that kind of money on a clam and worm digger

All I am saying is use it until things get slow then send it off...

Could have got 3-

316 SS scoops instead , i never got a titanium , i was interested , you took the chum, hook, line, and sinker  :realitycheck: Just take 600 up to the casino , when you come out with empty pocket's :cool3: , sometimes ya just have to let things go, Craig's the master at it, me it takes time , you will be fine, happy hunting. John will make it wright !

I thought somewhere in your posts you said you bought a titanium ? I bought it primarily for its weight and strength , supposedly. To lose a pound in an already light design scoop is huge. It makes a major difference in your time on the beach. And I'm a volume hunter. The $600 in a casino ? Yeah many times I farm it....but there are times like this...just recently when I put a 20 spot in and BOOM !!!! A little over $1800 JP...

Common decency would say that you should give John a chance to make it right before you bash him and his company on the www. So far, he has not failed to live up to his obligation. That is all.

I'm with KOB on this one. He was bashed in a text that he received unintended for him to another person from John. :wow:

Thanks Mr.Jeep....That was I think the worst thing in this whole deal. I still have the text. John should have the scoop tomorrow. I just want to be done with it and move on...

I bought one of Chucks Stealth when they were first made,,,,,I broke two,,,,yes two, and he replaced both of them,,,,He referred to me as a 6 day a week gorilla which at the time I was,,,,He made good both times,,,,,by the time I got my third about 7 years ago I have had no issues and am no where near needing a new one,,,,,I honestly think I came part of his designing process,,,,, yes, he sold his business and as stated a warranty is only as good as the company remains operating,,,,I do know a little about metal being in the HM Door business 30 years and can tell you, titanium welded is not a good idea,,,,,wouldn't trust it no matter who made it,,,,SS is great for welding and what we do with them,,,,I know if I ever need a new scoop I will hands down go for a Starv,,,,,,I hope John makes it right but don't plan on a replacement titanium scoop fitting the bill,,,,,GL HH

Time....THE DESTROYER. How many wood handles before you switched? When we hunted together every day..... we could surely break some stuff. I remember once having to dig your scoop out after your broke your handle. I can only say ive had 2 StarvRs and NO issues..... and for the price shipped hard to beat. Im not seeing a lot of NEW design... they are what they are so im not big on giving a ton of money for a CF handle and TI scoop. The scoop just has to get the target and not break..... ill save the money for anther machine ... when i break this one

I sent a Stealth in for warranty service last year. After looking at it, they decided to replace it then to repair it. They stated that the replacement does not have a warranty. All of the welds on the replacement are rusting compared to the original from Chuck.

After one trip to the beach, my welds also started rusting on my stealth. Very happy with the build quality though, thanks for the heads up on xtreme! I cant say I could spend that much on a scoop to begin with, my wife would likely take it in the divorce for purchasing the scoop anyway  I paid for the stealth with finds money  keep us posted on the outcome KOB! Good luck out there!

Well KOB

If i do get another Xtreme scoop it will be the 316 SS , I herd it was a bit better on corrosion vs 304 SS , let us know how you made out , Earl

Casinos.....

I live within 60 miles of 6 Indian casinos.

Native Americans have special fishing rights here in Michigan.

The saying here is "first they got all the trout, then the whitefish, now they're getting all the suckers".

When i take a one hundred dollar bill into a casino i may or may not leave happy.

When i take a one hundred dollar bill into Bass Pro Shop i always leave happy.

Yes. The 316 is way better than the 304. Tracking shows it was delivered a couple days ago. All I've heard are crickets so far....

UPDATE 12-8-20.
So...went back and forth a bit with John. A bit of craziness. Won't go into all the details , but here are a few. I wanted 2 SS scoop buckets , which he wouldn't do. I had only sent my titanium scoop back , kept the CF. I know 1st hand now shipping a return is kinda expensive. Well bottomline is he refunded my $ on the scoop , minus the shipping. And I got the shaft ! (Lol). I'm glad it's finally over and am happy now. I wish you all luck on those who bought the titanium scoop. It just wasn't meant to be....
