Seated And Barber Quarters From Tearout

Either a barber or seated would make my day and you nailed both - plust extras. Well done

Way to keep killing it. So awesome that tear out paid off after that permission didn’t work. That seated and barber quarter are beautiful. Congrats on all the silvers. Looking forward to your next post as the silver count continues to climb.
Thank you Jason, the tearout was only 2 blocks away from the permission and an easy decision to make. The alternative was to go home empty. Went back to permission the next day and pulled 3 Silvers and some Wheat's then did a follow up at the tearout and again got skunked. Last night and today we are getting the much needed rain so I will go to the site I pulled the two Quarters at and hunt that property. Really looking forward to seeing the other side of the fence. I know the property goes back to the mid 1800's.
Man, I love the patina/toning on that Barber quarter!
Thank you Tom for the reply. Both the Seated and the Barber Quarters came out of the ground with a heavy dark toning. I cleaned the Seated as it was very hard to see any detail. I think that coin really came out great.

Great report! Still slammin' it I see. Good instinct to not give up on the tearout after a prior skunk there. I was just commenting to another poster about how nobody finds seated quarters...then along comes Trapper.
Appreciate your response Blaise. Your right that Seated Quarters don't come around that often. For that matter any Seated coin here is a rare find. I have dug a few over the years and seem to average 2 or 3 Seated's a year.
What an outstanding haul! Congrats and thanks for sharing!
Thank you Nails, your response is appreciated. This thread is the results of several hunts over a couple of weeks hunting. I got to retire this last Winter and have been able to commit a lot of time and effort to this hobby. I'm pleased to show some of the results from those hunts. Trapper

Nice.

That's good stuff. Here in baltimore, we have had a lot of rain, when they rip up the roads or side walks sometime eyeball a coin or two. The rain washes the coin's right out.

Congratulations on a wide variety of coin. Special congratulations on the seated quarter I also found a seated quarter this week. Once again nice job!

Thank you Yacorie for your reply. Normally a Seated or Barber would make my week. The street was one of the first in the community and goes back to the 1840's. Just got lucky this outing.
Nice finds Trapper, thanks for sharing !!!!!!
Thanks Jerry, I get to go back to hunt the yard tomorrow.

Never had that happen here but wish it would. So MD are you a trapper also? It is how I got my nickname and have not missed a season since 1959.
thats a very nice quarter! great finds
Appreciate your reply "Fool". Not sure I like calling you that. Have you got a first name for further communications? The Seated really is a very nice looking coin It does show a lot of detail. Trapper

46 to go amigo Trapper......Go get em!!!
Appreciate the response Busca and will do my best to get to your prediction of 300. Maybe if things go right Get past it by a few.
Wow! Is all I can say!!!
Thank you Pick for the reply. You got a first name, I like to make communications a little more personal if you wouldn't mind. Trapper

Killer Coins bud! Love to get on a street tearout. Only hit small sidewalk tearouts in the past. Awesome post!

Pick is actually a Camp name from Rendezvous (a pre 1840 reenactment) name is Chris Stone.

Epic finds!

Sorry if I sound like a nitpicker, but just some friendly advice in case you don't know- please don't clean the next Seated you find. The 1856 would probably have kept a great patina with some careful electrolysis and in that condition it was worth close to $100.

Thank you Dan as your response is greatly appreciated, Also a huge congrats on your Seated quarter. The just grow on trees and are not easy finds.

Thanks Dan, I don't see a lot of tearouts where I live. On occasion I get to hunt one now and then in the bigger cities. I have been pretty lucky when they have come available.

Thank you Chris for the return reply. Are you big in rendezvous reenactments? I have had a few good times around such activities as some of my closest friends live that lifestyle. Being a Trapper, somehow the movie "Mountain Men" became my favorite. There has been many a campfire where the soundtrack is played.

Thank you NMSilver for your reply. I guess I will call you Prof. for short. You are not nitpicking. I am not a coin collector and was unaware that coin had that kind of value. I appreciate you informing me on this matter. The cleaning was for my benefit as I am old and my eyesight is not what it use to be. Not sure I really hurt the coin as the black covering seemed to be oil or tar based. Again thank you for the info as I will take better notice in the future. Trapper

Wow, lots of great finds!!!
Thanks Sean, things have been going very well.
What a great set of finds!!! Keep them coming. BCD

Appreciate you stopping in BCD. I hope this keeps up for a good while.

Congrats on some great additions to the silver pile!
