Yeah, the problem I had is, about every second hole dug, I would go to truck and get my towel and wipe the big ball of mud off my pinpointer.

Yep, hunting in the rain makes things a little sticky. Or maybe, a lot sticky.
Here in California, a lot of people let their lawns turn into dirt because of the drought,, especially the parkways, so that meant better detecting.
