OAK ISLAND

I have say that in the last series, when they started excavating the cellar site, I was hoping for something interesting...A mason jar full of coins would have been great, but really any pre 1800 artifacts would have been nice. When they failed to find anything beyond a button, I pretty much gave up on the show...
You gave them an idea... next year they will find a pottery container of roman coins

Like I said in earlier posts... I rather watch mold grow than watch this garbage....

That program is the equivalent of a soap opera on TV.... they are never going to find anything unless they plant it... it amazes me how some believe that show... I guess if you have nothing else to so with your time, you can throw it on
That show never gets watched very often, "if anything else is on ? It takes to long to keep up with what's going on ? They will croak of old age, before they find anything decent !
too_

The only thing I have to say with regard to the 'metal detecting' parts of the show is how often we all (especially those of us who hunt old townsites, homesteads etc.) will find a variety of random items, some identifiable, some not, ...

Hi-Desert-hunter : I am convinced that I could come up with a salacious treasure story, with the same O.I. techniques, from my own back yard in Monterey, CA.

Eg.: I can find all sorts of "suspicious" clues. Eg.: Strange symbols, shapes, cryptograms, cyphers, etc... And If I detect, I will find (drum-roll) METAL ! And then I can find salacious reasons why they *must* point to a fabulous treasure.

..... With the advent of trail cams in the last 20 or so years and literally NO clear, obvious pics of a Bigfoot type creature taken, well, I rest my case....

Nah, that doesn't prove Bigfoot doesn't exist. It just proves he's crafty and sneaky and knows how to avoid trail-cams. Tsk tsk :shifty:

The amount of loose change I have in my sofa is greater than any treasure they'll find on Oak Island. :my2cents:

Which, as you know, is not a defeater to "fabulous treasure" at Oak Island.

Instead this merely means that : They hid that treasure at Oak Island amazingly well. NOT that "there's no treasure".

Get with the script here bro !!

Something tells me that bigFEET leads to crop CIRCLES. If you need any more proof that aliens exist, just closely watch some of our elected officials. But as far as Oak Island goes................:dontthinkso:

A realistic possibility is there WAS something at Oak Island at one time - but it ain't there now.

Haha, this is the one pushback that always cracks me up. The "faithful" just CAN'T bring themselves to admit that nothing was or is there. And if they're finally starting to wise up and see that : Nothing is there, then : This STILL doesn't equate to "no fabulous treasure". Instead it merely means : Someone already got it. But at NO TIME was there NOT a fabulous treasure there. We simply can not have that in the pool of potential hypothesis , eh ?

Tom, is this you? :laughing:Click on picture will show comments :D

What happened with the supposed Roman sword that was found? I don't think I was watching the show back then...I have heard people say it was fake and/planted, but was ever determined who was behind it?

Maybe the sword will show up at dents run?

Hey, why not ? I mean : No good treasure legend would be complete unless it had a human skull or bone, poisonous snakes, booby traps, insane depths, cryptogram cypher clues, insane values, secret societies, conspiracies, etc... So, heck, let's add a Roman sword to Dents Run too. Because then : FOR SURE IT WILL BE TRUE .

Tom and I had been on another website, getting suspended from time to time. For me it is life time suspended for a miss understanding which I will not go into. My point, there is a pirate treasure in Connecticut not connected to Captain Kidd. Tom and I went back and forth whether the story is true. I am 81 years old and hope there time to find the treasure. There are other hunters on the other site looking for it, but I have more details than any of them. Good luck to them. Former name: Connecticut Sam.

The first evidence it was fake is that is was from J. Hutton Pulitzer, a known clown in the treasure hunting world.

Here’s one artlcle on the sword he purchased from eBay:

Read the article, but still not sure how the sword is connected to Oak Island? Was it planted there for somebody to find?

Edited to add I ve just googled the story and watched a couple of clips of them dealing with the "sword"..No wonder they never bring it up any more...obviously a "modern" fake and not even a very good one!
