New to metal detecting!

My name is RJ Russell and I am a 27 year old married father of three in Slidell, Louisiana just outside New Orleans. I have had an interest for sometime now, but just recently got my first metal detector (Garret Ace 250). I am excited to get started and move past my yard...lol. I have only found construction trash and one penny thus far. Can't wait to make my first great find and post it here for yall to see.

Good for you . read through the hundreds of posts for insight and choose your needed accessories wisely so you will not need to replace them down the line. The 250 is a solid unit for it's cost. Spend time learning it and if/when the time comes where you feel the need to upgrade it will be a solid unit to introduce friends and family to your new hobby. Good Luck and HH ...

I also have an Ace 250. I bought it as a backup for my other detectors. I have already found a silver dime and several wheat pennies with it. There are probably more posts on this forum about the Ace 250 than any other detector. If you have questions about it, just ask. A number of members will be glad to help you out.
