New Minelab Equinox

:popcorn2:

Because the editing thing didn't know that word!

Just doesn't mean you should do it..

Something else,,when user selects multi frequency, which freqs exactly are switched?
Could they infact be different freqs altogether that are switched when using multi freq??
Or could these different freqs according to the specs,,,actually not be switched rather simultaneous as is implied in specs.

You know what would make me buy this thing IMMEDIATELY upon release? Change nothing, EXCEPT...

When the user presses the "multi-frequency" button, it switches into "FBS" mode, running FBS algorithms, and displays a FE/CO number on the screen like an Explorer/E-Trac/CTX. No, it doesn't need all the bells and whistles of the CTX...color screen, target trace,GPS...leave that for the flagship machine. But give me the same ability to run four or five different single frequencies as has already been built into the unit, BUT, when "multi-frequency" mode is selected, make it be FBS-based, with CO/FE numbers and "Explorer/E-Trac" tones. All in the lightweight, waterproof, wireless Equinox package?

Yes if it did that and the same coil could be employed,,game set match!!
For that price anyway!!
And change the name to "The Terminator".

One thing I am starting to believe though.
FBS/FBS2 is power hungry.
Battery size needed could put on the weight.
And could be the reason Minelab stayed away from color anything screen wise with the Equinox.

Here's my question, why can't I use a word for feces that starts with c and ends with p in a post on this forum, without the forum putting a **** in place of the word I typed, but yet someone can use a MUCH more offensive word, and it's OK? :?:

If that offended you, you should have seen his attack on me prior to my posting this. It was uncalled for and it was removed. As for your question, I have no idea why you would want to post the word cr@p in response to any post. In your eyes, it is less offensive but apparently offensive or abused previously to your trying to use it. Maybe you should ask a moderator why ?I'm sure I will be getting a message telling me to not use that word again, perhaps it too will be fixed as cr@p is for future reference. My guess is that it was never brought up until now but that is just a guess. I hope this helps.

This or That

I had been waiting for a good price on a used Deus, and then I remembered that Minelab was about to reveal a new machine. Now that the Equinox has been announced, I'm now thinking of waiting for one of the two models.

I have a lot of respect for the two minelabs I've owned in the past, the 705 and the Safari.

With that being said, my primary must have in a machine is the weight factor. I'm also inclined to believe that the new Equinox will have less of a learning curve than the Deus, decisions decisions.

Ummmmm....Deus or Equinox...:?:

My post was a little bit less toward you, and a little more toward the fact that I used the word cr@p, in a PM no less, and the software, or a moderator, or someone, did the **** thing! LOL!

Anyway, I'm sorry about whatever happened earlier between the two of you...

+1.

I'll probably get one anyway though.

With an approx Feb 2018 actual release date.

We may never know how good these detectors are till around Dec 2018 give or take.
We likely could have a good read on it though for water hunting a lot sooner.

Unless of course the testers start talking more about.
We might see a couple more new releases too by next spring.

Boy this is fun.

At least we have these 2 bones to gnaw on for a while.

I think the women and children who detect,,they will find these detectors interesting at least.
And it's good to see other "light weight" models for folks to choose if they desire.

Not a problem. I know better and should have just let it go but it was so obvious as to all of the hype for the equinox. That is if you watched the majority of the videos from detectival.

Minelab is about to obsolete their own detector line up.

There was a time when a VHS movie cost $100 and not many were sold. Then Batman came out on VHS for $19.99 and sold like hot cakes. The math on this machine may work for Minelab.

Well,
I hope Minelab pumps out a lot of units.
So folks who want can get timely after physical release.

The number of units sold could be astronomical for a detector model newly released.
Right around income tax time too for folks.

I have no idea why they didn't make it so the coil cable went through the rod, that would've been slick.

I'm new to ML as of about a year ago, and I'd personally choose a model without the cable thru the rod. It's a hassle to me. If it's for cost reduction, I'll take the savings.

Tired of forcing coiled cables thru the rods, aftermarkets especially.

We may see some new Minelab brand dealers due to this detector line.

Would be nice to see if control head can be taken off rod and how difficult for shipping, airline travel, etc.

Maybe if the detector is far enough along,,Minelab will let testers at least show us the physical attributes,,like disassembly, movement of arm cuff, coil change, battery installation and or charging.
