Fisher Impulse AQ detector update

Here's a new perspective. This past week we had a lot of detectorists show up on the Treasure coast hoping for a bonanza from Dorian. I was talking with 2 guys who both had a Minelab GPZ 7000. You don't see those everyday about 8 grand each.

Well they didn't find anything either. The point is when your still sanded in, YOU'RE SANDED IN! Beach conditions are everything. I agree I like to have a machine deeper than the average machine used by others but money doesn't guarantee success.

On the AQ I bet the hang up is still mass assembling coils to operate at 7. Right now I bet each coil is a custom job.

.... Well they didn't find anything either. The point is when your still sanded in, YOU'RE SANDED IN! Beach conditions are everything. ....

Bingo.

While it's good to have a "good machine", yet the much bigger part of the formula, for beach erosion, is timing-&-location. If you show up at a zone where mother nature has decided to "bring sand in" (versus eroding out), then IT WON'T MATTER if you have the "cat's meow" machine. If a person shows up with a nugget hunt machine, that can effortlessly pull coins from 1.5 to 2 ft. deep, what good is that, if there's no targets ?? :?:

I've been in erosion zones so thick, that .... after awhile we're only digging the signals that "ring the bells of notre dame" (ie.: the shallow ones). Because, "why knock yourself out digging deep ones", if you can merely move the coil another foot to the left, and get a shallow one ? Doh !

Speed becomes the name of the game. Not depth. And while I'd never trade my capable Exp. II in those situations, yet I have to admit: Even a cheapie machine, in the right hands, could be scarfing up targets just-as-fast.

I think I've read enough about this "Ghost Detector ". It can do this , it can do that , blah , blah , blah. Hopefully it can do what other machines do : detect metal. Though some may disagree , I can find rings at over 2 feet deep with my modified PI. Which adds up to one thing. Be careful what you wish for. For those who haven't , it's not easy. Crashing waves , sand caving in , 3 foot diameter holes. You better be prepared to walk away from some juicy targets. Do you really want a machine that goes so deep , you can't realistically retrieve your target ? It WILL wear you out fast. Reading a beach is #1.

The real advancement to this hobby would be an awesome retrieval device. I am working on a few prototypes that are : piston driven , battery operated , compact and portable. More like an automatic post hole digger if you will. My prototype can dig through wet sand like butter ! Portability and battery life is my big obstacle. So...until something like this is accomplished , you better have good insurance for your needed back and arm surgeries. Cause your going to dig like a badger !

Ya , ever since Craig nick named it the Pulse Devel, it's Like the- Dodge HellCat everybody want's one :run1: PS but Nobody know's what year it's coming out

Really? People are still talking about this?

Zee... years ago there was this magical PI supposedly close to coming out... was getting rave reviews about how it could disc out ferrous targets for years people were strung along... it was called the Pulse Devil...

So after all the talking this new machine up and hearing about testers taking it out months ago there has been nothing... so I started calling it the Pulse Devil  All in fun :D

i know all too well what its like digging big holes with a pulse machine... I used one exclusively for many years before changing my hunting style going from fresh drops to finding old spots to recover gold from yesteryear...

Someone years ago made a target recovery unit that was based on a weed wacker or looked like it as it was gas powered... try to find a video of it now :D

It ended up in the closet with the pulse devil

I remember that video, the guy was using a CZ20 with a 2 stroke motor. I bet you could hear that baby for miles being sound has a open path on the water.

Earl... Joe and myself are not talking about the Manta... a guy years ago came out with a gas powered tool to suck up the targets out of the sand and in the water... it looks like a weed trimmer.. that is what I asked whether you bought one or not... Get with the program
