Its finally happening! I'm getting my first detector in around a week. My parents said if I got a good grade on my report card, they will get me a detector as an early birthday gift. I got my report card yesterday, and... I got 95.32%! I am still so excited, and I can't wait to get to detecting.

Also great news, I found out a park near my house was an old 1940's airbase, and detecting is permitted there! I've heard of great finds there.

So, good luck and happy hunting!

Hey Connor, CONGRATS! Real happy for you. Your going to really enjoy the hobby. Check out a thread I made. It has a ton of information for newbies and pros. The thread is about Treasure Hunting in each State. But I actually expanded on it and it has sites about Gems, Gold and the proper Etiquette of Metal Detecting. Scroll all the way down because I keep adding sites to it. Be sure to stop in the Chat room some early evening. Nice bunch of guys and a couple of young guys your age too.

Awesome! Congrats on the high grades (I'm a teacher, so I have to say that first). Just think of all the neat things you're going to dig up that you'll be able to use in school reports! ;)

Which MD are the folks springing for?

Congrats on the excellent grades and the new detector.F2 is a great md.Good luck with your hunting. And keep up the good grades.HH

Hey Conner, congratulations on your grades, that's awesome. You obviously have some great parents and we know how proud they must be of you. Good for you, I hope you have a great time MD'ing. It is fun, you never know from one day to the next what you may find. Good luck and happy hunting.

Congratulations on the good grades.Don't forget to get a pinpointer with your detector, they sure do help speed up recovery time.
Well done and keep up the hard work at school.

Good grades are the key to learning to detect. The more you understand about your detector the better you can use it. Physics has all the answers.
