Averaged $2/hr on a Sunday trip

I was able to hit one park and two schools this weekend with the Ace 250, and I managed to find about $16 total in clad. No silver, no old coins, and no good jewelry. Coin totals included 45 Q, 46 D, 7 N and 17 P. Also found one junker ring and a Canadian penny. The nickel count is high for me...

    Park Hunt Planned

Good day all! I'm planning my first outing (aside from my own yard). I'm planning to work a local, public park with baseball and soccer fields, along with a shelter or two. I'm going to set my sensitivity to low since I'm new to the hobby. Any ideas where I should start would be welcome and...

    St Christopher silver medallion

Today I found my 5th piece of silver since starting detecting last December. I have mostly been hitting parks which at times can be fruitless, but am trying to learn ways of squeezing more juice from the turnips they are. I went out today to a park in Indy which I am sure has been detected many...

Deep ring pulls = excessively deep silver?

I am about to give up hunting the park where I pulled my first silver coin (quarter at 6 inches). Yesterday in about 3.5 hrs all I found was 98 cents in clad. One was a 1964 nickel, and two quarters were 70's (3-4 inches). I am thinking either the park has been pounded and there is too much...

    First silver coin, 1948 quarter!

Thanks everyone who has contributed their knowledge here. It has help me pull this quarter from about 5-6 inches in an old pounded park in Indy this morning. It gave me a clear 38 on the Minelab Quattro as I was griding a section of a field. The only other not trash finds were these two crusty...

    Keepin' it Reale!

Well, I was out visiting my in-laws in NJ and decided to nail a park near their house that I frequent in the early morning before anyone gets up; the park I was told has been nailed for years and there's not much to be found other than clad, which is very true. Regardless, last year I hit a 42'...

Chicago Park hunt...Ring and some Electronics

These are some finds from a recent Chicago Park hunt . Found a buttload of junk/bottle caps, $5 in change, a toy car, a working $50 activity tracker....and.... Went to up on a big hill early in the morning, and was just reaching the top, when I saw another detectorist. It's kind of an annoying...

    Finally!!!

Its finally happening! I'm getting my first detector in around a week. My parents said if I got a good grade on my report card, they will get me a detector as an early birthday gift. I got my report card yesterday, and... I got 95.32%! I am still so excited, and I can't wait to get to detecting...

    AWESOME evening in Seattle!

[Click on a picture to increase resolution] My dad and I went back to a Seattle park that I posted about last time. It gave us 2 20's mercs so we thought we would give it another shot. Got a very obvious 12-47 by a tree and ended up with a heavily encrusted quarter. We were very surprised no...
