Hunted the townsite for about 2 1/2 hours today, and found another silver, along with other coins, and some nice relics.

The 1908D Barbie, a wheat, and the soap cakes token were found near the main st. where I was parked. The red button, National tuberculosis Assoc. pin, the red button, and the rest of the wheats I found near where the school once stood, and the 1909 V nickel was found as I was making my way back to the truck.

Non dug example of the pin.

The barley is getting longer in spots making it more difficult to swing, but easy to replant if I dig some up in a clump. Tuesday will be my last day to hunt this property due to the crops, and an upcoming vacation.

Thanks for looking, and HH!

Found a small silver coin at the townsite today that gave my cardiac functions a start when I thought I dug a half dime!

When I took a closer look, I realized it was an 1889 25 Pennia foreign coin, and later on found out it was from Finland. A half dime would have been a fantastic bucket lister find here for sure, but the the Pennia was also a great find to be had. Quite a few foreign coins found here shows the varied backgrounds of the people who came here to work and live.

The Pennia, and 3 wheats were the only coins I found today, the brass valve handle and pocket watch frame were about the only interesting relics. I hunted the area where we thought the ballfield may have been so the signals were more spread out. I have never seen so many pocket watches found in one area like this. Time in a mining town must have been important.

Thanks for looking, and HH!

Update on a blob I found 7 days ago.

This was the original condition of a token found a week ago. One of my hunting buddies had developed a solution using lye to clean up iron relics that works well, and asked if I wanted to try it with this object to see if it would work, and I said go for it.

After a few days, he noticed the edge of the token, and decided to let it go for several more days. He called me up today to come over and check it out, and Id say the results have come along way from the blob that I originally found.

Non dug example of the real estate token prior to 1935.
