i sent my warranty card back and wrote thank you to them on it for making such a fine machine. thats how happy i am with mine
and i really cant think of any other purchase i have ever made that is this satisfying and that i did not regret doing or question to death after doing so.

And please...PLEASE do not forget to purchase and use the official set of conversion weights to attach to the holy new purchase.
You know...add the 1 1/2 lb weight first...swing for awhile...reduce down to the 1 lb weight and again swing...reduce...swing....then keep doing this till you can truly deal with the tiniest of angel lightness of being that is the Compadre.
Our brethren that swing the heavier detectors before conversion seem to be able to mentally handle it better this way.
Otherwise, it could be shocking.
Also be sure to stop by the gift shop this Sunday after services.

I also like how Tesoro gives you a cool sticker with your Compadre and Minelab gave me no such sticker with my Etrac.

As long as somebody mentioned that, he is exactly right about that manual.
For those of you new to the congregation, especially the ones that have never hunted with a Tesoro before, here is the first sermon I ever gave about using it.
The basics, but this will work.
I had never seen one in real life or held one in my hands at that point, but somehow, the joy and power of the mighty Compadre was in my heart for sure, that day.
Brother Slingshot took over the pulpet a few posts below that and preached the story of discrimination...and it was good!
Read brothers and sisters, read, learn and swing till the joy bursts out of your very soul!

I think that Minelab should put a Tesoro sticker in with every detector they sell, I mean that way you could stick it over the Minelab sign and pretend you are swinging a Tesoro, won't work as well as a Tesoro but will look almost as goodI also like how Tesoro gives you a cool sticker with your Compadre and Minelab gave me no such sticker with my Etrac.

the hf pointer carries a phone book sized manual compared to our beloved compadre
needs no manual as its like an extension of ourself. just imprinted like picking your nose
you dont need a manual to pick your nose and find hidden stuff

Question for all my Compadre brethren. Does anyone know who this (neswiper) is on Youtube that started making vides on the Compadre.?
The reason I ask is his second vid starts off with this caption:
"Tesoro Compadre after ground balance and sensitivity adjustment"
Huh? must be a model I don't know about.

You can adjust the sens and gb by two trim pots located on the circuit board. I adjusted mine and picked up an additional inch maybe a bit more.

Ah, ok I got it now. Thanks for that. I knew about the sens pot but not a gb
pot. But wouldn't you have to remove the panel to gb the unit to the soil your detecting. His unit does not have any extra knobs on it, so I assume he already adjusted it prior.

Yes you do. Here is a link which shows pot locations and also walks you through the adjustment. By the way you turn the trim pot for sens counter clockwise. I just gave mine a quarter turn. Good enough for another inch. My GB is fine so I did not play with that pot.
