Problems with updates. Unable , Unstable to recognize targets at depth. Very small screen. Problems with screen glare. Control pod susceptible to falling off. Wobbly lower shaft. Have to charge the coil. Claims of being wireless until you want to dunk it in water. Then you must use a long antenna running up and out the shaft ( which by the way IS a cable). Expensive $ to start , even more so on accessories such as coils. Lack of factory coil options. Unstable around excessive EMI and unusable in heavy blacksand. Big learning curve compared to other turn on and go machine.

Is that enough for ya ? Cause I got more.. But I figure you can look up all the other complaints on this forum or others. Have fun...

Sounds to me like you just described another CON 1st hand...you shouldn't need a coil battery replaced so fast. Customer service 2nd to none ? Not exactly what I've heard but I'm happy you like it.

His channel is showing its status as demonetized. Youtube wouldn't demonetize a channel for buying ads from them, they want you to keep buying ads. I smell more 'who do voodoo'[sic].

I watched his videos until he showed his true colors. He had the habit of thinking anyone who didn't agree with his staged videos was doing it because they were "jealous" and envious". Wouldn't/couldn't stand to face reality or honest criticism.

Bottom line every machine has its pros and cons. I know of no machine with out "problems" I could point out more with mine, but over all there is no other machine I am interested in. I have so much time invested in tuning my ears to this one, and have a very long ways to go as far as opening up its potential. I feel it is the same with all the high end machines. It is like the guy that own one gun and shoots every week compared to the guy who has a dozen gun shoots them every week.... but who has better groupings?

I gotta think it's a lotta work producing and scheming a video. Let alone all the staging. And if your niche is testing , that would get old real fast. Maybe he is actually enjoying life doing real hunts , stress free. I just hope he didn't stroke out over a block of Styrofoam.

Totally agree.... Testing can get redundant after a while.... The most fun I have when making YouTube content is just going out and detecting!

That was with only 8K subscribers... He had like 20K for a time. I view any YouTube income as hobby money as I'm retired so it's not that important. Since very few of my friends like to go metal detecting even though I have two extra loaner XTerra Pros! It's still fun to go it alone ... even if people think I'm a mental patient talking to myself! Got to have fun or it becomes no fun!

I started watching him back in my AT Pro days. He is entertaining, but a little too biased about his current detector. I don't hold much faith in test garden compares. One can easily detune one detector you wish to fail and not be able to see that in a video. I am not saying CB did any of that, it is just possible and I am naturally suspicious of compares. I did object to a person bashing his accent. We cannot control our accents later in life, we are stuck with them. I am thinking his passion was to stir the pot and get more youtube views which does pay in hard cash to popular youtubers. But I think everyone probably knows that.

I much prefer to watch videos from rattle head and idx monster and even Merrill at NYC metal detecting where you can see the TID's and hear the tones BEFORE they dig the target. Several youtuber detectorist have told me that making detecting videos and editing them properly is work and takes the fun out of detecting after awhile.

Exactly why I don't do much editing on my YT videos... People like to see and learn the tones with you and I ask them to guess what they think it might be? I learned a lot from watching other detectoriest on YT, especially if they use the same detectors as I do! In the beginning I kind of cherry picked what worked and didn't work for me and made it mine. Love Merrill's, Iffy's and paystreak superfreak's channel content

Back to the original post…what should have happened is that his second to the last video should’ve explained the YouTube bot/sub/demonetization issue. That would’ve put him in FRONT of the problem created by people independently finding out what really happened, and THEN later having to clean that up with the facts. Personally, I really don’t care who is making money or doing this and that, I watch videos mainly for information about how to become a better detectorist and make more finds.
I put out a video earlier this year which contained a blurb cautioning against turning this hobby into work. It changes the dynamic of it, it’s not necessarily “organic” anymore. I can appreciate the time spent and work involved with putting out nonstop content regarding several aspects of the hobby, but it simply took a wrong turn in the name of “more”. “More” isn’t necessarily “better”, better is better. CD had some excellent content, and it was almost always when he was out hunting with friends in real world conditions and making some nice finds. Hopefully everybody can get back to doing just that and leaving the bulk of the income generation to the regular job.

I find it odd that grown men get their panties in a twist over someone they don’t know. If you don’t like what some guy has to say, don’t watch his videos or read/reply to his posts. There are always going to be the “correct the record” and “akchewally” guys, who will argue with you in perpetuity, and we aren’t immune to those guys here in this forum.

That said, this site has rules. If you intentionally make an attempt to circumvent those rules, then you have earned the perma-ban hammer that you received.
