A buddy told me Calabash deleted his videos. Sure enough I looked and he had. They were all gone, but the channel is still there. I wasn't ever a big fan of his channel, but did watch some of his videos. Wondering if anyone knows the scoop?

On youtube you can make your video's private so no one but you can see them ... at anytime you can change them to Unlisted, Public, or Private.. I guarantee all the time he put into making them he did not delete them. Now if he deleted his channel .. then all is gone and the guy is serious about disappearing.

Years ago I was a few of the first to do you tube videos detecting, 2007/8. Its really easy to get obsessed with trying to put new video's out on a schedule. Sometimes you just have to make a choice on what's is more important..

I gotta think it's a lotta work producing and scheming a video. Let alone all the staging. And if your niche is testing , that would get old real fast. Maybe he is actually enjoying life doing real hunts , stress free. I just hope he didn't stroke out over a block of Styrofoam.

I wonder if he pushed to hard against the Legend, Delik Gonulay Dir. of Sales I think, posted a live youtube video bashing him a year ago for making false claims about the Legend, who knows, maybe their suing him?

Maybe XP gave him a copyright violation notice or something? :) DMCA takedown request for trademark infringement...

Dilek wasn't bashing him. She was politely exposing his false claims about the Legend, which all the Legend owners already knew. The word, was Nokta threatened a lawsuit because of his false and misleading claims, and that's why he took down all his Legend videos.

Once he got the free D2, all other detectors were garbage to him. He was not only bashing the Legend as much as possible, but suddenly his Nox 800 sucked as well. Right about the time XP announced their US ambassador (not him), he suddenly did a total flip flop on the Legend, and his 800 started working better as well!

The irony is, after he found out XP didn't choose him as their US ambassador, his methodology and objectivity went from total crap, to impressively good. So good, that I started watching his in ground comparison tests again.

I guess he just figured the commitment, time, and effort, to do what he was doing, just wasn't worth it.

I only ever watched a handful of his videos. I enjoyed his passion . Hey, no one can argue that he didn't have enough passion, eh ? And while he did have scores of "cat's meow" detectors over the years (that he'd claim spanked everything else in existence), once you got past the cheerleader amp-up-passion part, there was always still good stuff you could glean.

I started watching him back in my AT Pro days. He is entertaining, but a little too biased about his current detector. I don't hold much faith in test garden compares. One can easily detune one detector you wish to fail and not be able to see that in a video. I am not saying CB did any of that, it is just possible and I am naturally suspicious of compares. I did object to a person bashing his accent. We cannot control our accents later in life, we are stuck with them. I am thinking his passion was to stir the pot and get more youtube views which does pay in hard cash to popular youtubers. But I think everyone probably knows that.

I much prefer to watch videos from rattle head and idx monster and even Merrill at NYC metal detecting where you can see the TID's and hear the tones BEFORE they dig the target. Several youtuber detectorist have told me that making detecting videos and editing them properly is work and takes the fun out of detecting after awhile.
