Calabash back after the gold today with Deus 2 on beach

Guess you missed my point.
It is alright to be skeptical. It is alright to be using intellectual curiosity.
But attacking someone or questioning their motives without any evidence to support is wrong.
Btw, Calabash called the AQ Impulse exactly what it turned now out to be over on dankowski forum if you cared to read. He based this solely on how detector rolled and LAcK of supporting video to substantiate claims. Also having a spokesman for AQ unit who lived in desert versus near salt water Beach, plus this person admitted eventually they didin’t know squat about using pi unit to hunt salt water beaches.

Now next. The Equinox.
Go back and read. Look around. Calabash never did make huge claims for waterproofing integrity of Equinox. Calabash did use Equinox for shallow diving. He then ran into problems with leaking control heads on equinoxes. Three total I believe. Calabash publicly disclosed this leaking on at least one if not more than one metal detecting forums. Calabash then proceeded to use excal unit using for all his underwater detecting. Then came along Deus 2. His excal is retired. Is for sale. Has 8” coil.
Calabash is using Deus 2 under water far deeper than chest levels. He has not reported any leaks or equipment failure associated with Deus 2.

Where did I mention anything about CB in this reply... I don't read Dankowski's forum... my post had nothing to do with CB... its my observations of certain detectors that weren't as billed... so stop being so defensive TN...

Calabash main use and talk of Equinox was geared toward relic hunting not salt water or freshwater beach use. Calabash then proceeded to use excal unit using for all his underwater detecting. Calabash selling a blue or excal 2?

Although I quoted you, my post was aimed at thread as a whole and how folks were responding.

Calabash has shown lot more with Deus 2 as far as beach use and underwater use vs say just a pic of Deus 2 coil with a pile of gold rings sitting atop of.

Buddy of mine has a mint blue... don't know if he wants to sell it... had it all redone by Tony Eisenhower...

I have another friend who has a mint blue 1000 with OBN mods and CF shafts...

Any Excalibur would have found everything he found , no big deal , tell Calibash I have some 5 xl wet suit's and gear , will trade , never used  Just another VLF detector No smoking gun , and no water hunters machine/ bomb :laughing: PS This dive appeared to be in fresh water , not salt , a huge difference testing it's waterproof ability , was he comparing the Deus2 to the ATPRO's fresh water capabilities

Do you dive to 28 feet?

You should snag that one so us that pre-ordered DEUS II have a better chance!

Members have the right to their opinions... that is why I posted what posted about detectors and claims from manufacturers... I take everything I read and see with a grain of salt...

I think when the Deus is in the hands of multiple beach hunters, hunting where they hunt we will see how it functions... I would like to see someone from the NE get one... not all beaches are the same... different mineralization different... black sand and so on...

When I am extremely tired I have been known to skip high tones on a beach. Anyone that has spent hours detecting on a salt water beach knows of the tired I speak of. Notice I said tones. Numbers have never meant anything to me while wet sand hunting. I don't look at them. Depth meters mean nothing. Target separation means nothing. Its all about tones and depth. In the water depth is not as important. Holes can only be dug to a certain depth. Tones are the most important. Meters mean nothing. In the dry sand the ability to distinguish foil, bottle caps, and pull tabs can save energy and time. A meter can make a difference. The Equinox is not exactly trusted when it comes to waterproofness. I have never liked it in the dry sand because of bottlecaps and the inability to ignore micro targets. The new Deus? We shall see. I will say now the 9 inch coil is too small for wet sand hunting. Unless the target ID has vastly improved over the Deus I then it will not be the tool for dry sand. While it looks to be waterproof more than the Equinox the boasting of depth is irrelevant in the water. So a better wet sand hunter with an 11 inch coil for coverage.

Calabash echoed just a few minutes ago with me per telecom, just what you said about 9” coil on beach. He favors 11” on Deus 2 big time. There is some depth loss too using 9” coil. Calabash does favor 9” coil for relic hunting though.

That one is the excal 2 ten inch coil.

I’ll get clarification tomorrow on what he has exactly. He may have give me wrong coil size.
If you are interested in his unit.
I can give his email address to you here via pm.
Or anyone else here interested for that matter.

Just trying to help someone out. Least I can do.

Money in the bank 4 the next smoking gun PI , out performing the AQ fantasy machine , my bet is on ML , with in a year , howboughtit :impatient::secret::thumbsup: PS I am not happy , was waiting on the AQ , even sold my DF , A manufacturer , not to mention any names , is officially IN THE DOG HOUSE

Sorry they cost you the DF buddy... The good is you did not have to go thru all the grief of owning the AQ. :dash2: What a piece of junk it is...:D And If it makes you feel any better, CB told me ...

BTW if your AQ is working properly you are the luckiest person on the face of the planet and need to go buy a lottery ticket.

I guess I'm double lucky......:sunny:

I am from CT also. When I get my DeusII we can go neck and neck on beach and relic sites. Deal?

If I remember correct he was looking for the small coil and had it put on the machine? So I think it has the 800 (7.5) coil on it
