BOOM! You’re not Going to Believe What I Found!!

That's the rewards of the Felix cent penance, also know as FCP. I don't believe anyone but you would be lucky enough to find a decarded scoop on the side of the road. :wow:

I thought you had found another Rolex... but this thread does not disappoint by any means. Congrats on the cool 'new' scoop.

I'll tell you something - if you would've asked me I would've told you that I would've thought that I had a better chance of finding anther Rolex than a metal detecting scoop thrown out like that.

I found a used once AT pro in the box at a yard sale for $50 once. Sold it for $400 next day. Never seen a scoop at a yard sale or curbside.

I have the exact same scoop. Have used it for years. Bought it from Pro Stock Detectors in Plainwell, Mi. Works real good in the rocky rivers we have here. Heavy but sturdy, not going to break..

Great save on the SS Felix!! Wow!! Sharp eyes!
I believe this scoop is a early Sunspot...
Here is a 30 year old sunspot, I'm guessing one of the first made? No back plate.. I did the video in 2011 of Steve Think he had 137 gold pieces the year before, he hunted South Beach also.. Beautiful Place..

Also another shoot of the scoop, from behind..:lookclose:

Thanks Craig- that confirms Earl. It has that hard black plastic thing too.
I had one earlier than that, that I won... it was a 90 degree ocean scoop... I hated it after a wave hit me and I had a big gold ring in it and the wave washed the ring out and I never found it again... it was basically open on top...

Great finds! And a sand scoop at that! Amazing. I never miss an opportunity to save something from someone's trash - I, too, can't believe what people throw away. My biggest find was an 80 lb wall safe being thrown out; put it on my bike handlebars and drove it 1/4 mile home. Talk about a funny scene - this old guy with an 80 lb safe on his bike...have you ever tried to steer a bike with 80 lbs on the front...it ain't easy but guys like us see it as a challenge. It was open when found and I was able to take it apart and figure-out the 4-turn combination. Great little safe.

You can put one of these (the shovel handle) on the back side of the CF shaft facing you and get a little more distance to tilt the scoop better...have one on my 90 degree scoop which I never use...maybe why the guy tossed it? any way good for a back up...
