I know this isn't about metal detecting but I do know that there has to be some military collectors on here that may be able to help me. I have a 1900 krag bowie bayonet that I got from my grandfather. I believe my great grandfather brought it back from WW1. It's in poor condition but it's very special to me. It's really rare I believe and it doesn't have a scabbard. I would love to find a scabbard or even a replica scabbard for it if possible but I can't find one anywhere. I was hoping some military collectors on here might have one they'd be willing to part with or maybe someone knows where I can find one. I've posted a picture of mine and one that's complete and in good condition. Thanks for your time.

That's exactly what it is. And unfortunately that link states the scabbard is even more rare than the bayonet

Since those were only proto types for testing and never in full production and since the sheaths would of decayed faster , he might have to find some one that can make a a reasonable replica . A lot of the American troops also carried hand made bolo knives custom made by the locals very durable and made to cut your way through jungle brush.

Personally I wouldn’t keep the knife in it’s sheath if leather. It will turn green on the brass parts if so equipped. Good luck!
That's the problem. I don't have a scabbard. It's more rare than the knife itself and there was less than 3000 made in total and who knows how many survived. It's already in poor shape and has no brass fixtures but I would like to aquire a scabbard or even a reproduction scabbard.
