8 Reales & Rare Seated Quarter! detecting last night UPDATE: Counterfeit 8 reales??

Absolutely amazing hunt !!! Congratulations on all your finds. My wife's birth mother lives in Laguna Beach !! We have never been there but want to take a trip some day.

It's a nice little town, you ought to come check it out during the summer and have dinner somewhere with your wife. Las Brisas is a great restaurant.

Holy Frijole , that's some incredible hunt ! Super Congrats ! I wonder if one of the workers at the mint was switching to copper and pocketing the silver ? God only knows . One thing is for certain is , that 8 Reale (real or not ) and your other finds are pretty darn cool ! Speaking of sick , sick , sick , I've got to leave now , I'm going to go out and try to find an elusive silver Rosie ( now that is truly sick ) .

Awesome hunt! Congrats!

Thx so much guys it was a thrill! SoilSurgeon did you find that rosie? :P!!

Fantastic Oro!!! Thanks so much, that is exactly what my coin appears to be. Ow you one!

You are finding stuff like that in that area? Boy, my ideas of when populations were in southern CA are WAY off! Those were all on the beach or close to water? I gotta tell ya...I wouldn’t have gone home. InSANE!

Fantastic hunt. I’m curious....what are the back marks of the artillery and dragoon buttons?

Sweet coins👍👍👍👍👍👍
I can't see that odd shaped ring on the left what is that?

turquoise stone Makers mark is stamped on a square reading "E S" there might be something else stamped above E S but can't tell

Thx Metal!

Hahaaha I didn't want to go home, but... you know.. work. No I was not near the beach at all! (inland quite some ways) These spots are very far drives for me, so I haven't been able to hunt as much as I want these days.

Hail no ! Two hours for 3 zincolns and one Memorial penny .

God Damnit!!! Sorry Soil surgeon that sucks!

Fantastic hunt. I’m curious....what are the back marks of the artillery and dragoon buttons?

The Dragoon button is "Scoville Extra" on the back (shank perfect)

The Artillery Button is "Robinson extra" (no shank)

Thx man - if you are a button guy, are they any good?

Amazing finds, way to go!!

Thx Kansas!

They both are very desirable. I have dug 0 Artillery buttons and I have dug 0 Dragoon buttons. I would say the Dragoon button is rarer and more desirable. The Dragoons were considered the elite fighting forces in the civil war. Congratulations deserved.
