$40K Diamond Ring Lost On Beach

I wish all people where as nice as this guy sounds! I know plenty yards and property I'd love to hunt... they don't even have to reward me for finding stuff... heck I'd let them keep it just so I could say I found it or had the chance too!!!

As rich as this guy is... maybe he will take you back to his homeland and make you his personal detecting assistant!!

Man, You sure did find a crap load of stuff though. Congrats on what you did find.

Yeah, you should have seen me when I got home inventorying all this stuff! My Wife asked me, "Why do you bring this S*@# home?" I'm like, I don't know, I just like to look at all that I found and then toss it. So from now on, I have to toss this stuff BEFORE I get home. Will have to remember that.

I wonder how many Bottle caps will equal $100 in scrap metal? Ah, never mind, I would probably need 1000lbs because a car is only worth $150 in scrap metal. Bad idea!

Pound for pound, bottlecaps should be worth more than a car. A car need to be dismantled and takes a lot of time and energy, whereas bottlecaps are pretty much ready to go. I know a farrier who does quite well on old horseshoes, since there're no-work recycling, too.

You should go back and pound that place again for sure. Nice job on the garbage cleanup, especially the needles.

Thanks. It was hard work digging up all that stuff. I would go back there right now If I could, but work has been very slow over the last 2 years and I finally got a few days worth of work, and that's guaranteed money. I should get a break in that towards the end of the week then I'm hitting that beach again. I have very detailed measurements for the area covered, so I can continue where I left off.

Hopefully this thing was lost on this beach as stated. If it's there, I will dig that sucker up! Worse case scenario, I dig it up after this guy goes back to his home country, I'm certain he would fly over here to get it. I am determined to find this thing and get this reward and would like a nice photo of the return for my wall!

Thank you for the detailed update. "The detector gods" were not with you on that day. But we keep our fingeres crossed. There will be another day! Go, FL-Hunter, go!

Keep on trucking man. I'm sure it'll turn up. At the very least you're cleaning up what sounds like a nice beach besides a few junkies.

I have been putting the word out for a few years to everyone I know, that I do MD'ing as a hobby and am available for hire to recover lost items. I don't have people knocking down my door with calls but I do get quite a few and I do recover more than 1/2 of the items lost.

I'm convinced the reason I don't recover 100% of them is because sometimes, where they say the lost it they really didn't and other times, someone else may have located it before I got there. I'm confident though if it's where I swing my coil, I am 99.99999% certain, I will recover it.

Ya the local coin shop I go to to sell my golld finds tells people who come into the shop with lost item stories i can find it and gives them my #

Just a shame at the amount of trash you found. I wish people would learn to clean up after themselves. I was hoping you would find their ring.
