Hope I'm not hogging the trough here on posting, but did have a chance to do a couple of yards yesterday and today, Saturday, between rain showers. The first yard / home was ca 1938 on a large corner lot, real nice guy said go right ahead, so I jumped in! First signal was a Silver War Nickel, followed by a wheat cent, so I had a good vibe going on this! Things slowed down somewhat, with a few wheaties and then a Silver Rosie, along with some clad, followed by another Silver Rosie. I then headed back to the 1950s apt complex, and pulled a Sterling Ring, a few wheat cents, plenty of clad quarters and dimes, and a lot of nickels (in the hopes of finding a gold ring).

The second home was ca 1906, a nice couple gave me the go ahead, and the first coin was a 1908-S Barber Dime ( a decent scarce date). The next coin was a 1902 Indian Head cent, followed by a few wheat cents. The grass, even though flattened due to past snow, was thick, and there had definitely been some soil / organic matter added as all the old coins were about as deep as my AT Pro could go... about 8" on the Silver Dime. As the good targets were deep, I expanded my strike zone a bit, and pulled a "JAX HALL" token with cut out heart. Found out thru tokencatalog this one was from Lincoln Nebraska ca 1916. I was delighted to find a couple of Silver War Nickels in this yard, and the last cool find was a "MEMBER" lodge metal badge, possibly from the local Eagles Hall. The rain started up and thankfully I had just finished this last yard, so off to home. Happy to have made some good finds, thank you for your interest!

Hi Mark, thank you! I did dig some pull tabs chasing that elusive gold ring at the apartments, but generally front yards are not that junky. The AT Pro is really good regarding the tone for iron, so I pass all those up, pass the pull tab and balls of foil up, and as my forum name indicates, I pretty much chase the high tones. Now... if at an old place or perhaps back on the East Coast USA I definitely would dig targets that rang up much lower than the usual copper and silver.

Congrats! on the silvers. I love the war nickels.

You did awesome for sure. You certainly lived up to your namesake Lovetheshiney. Congrats on the silvers. You're not done with that place at all.

That token is awesome. Congrats on the finds and good job keeping the silver coming.
Thank you Jamflicker! Always good to get more silvers, and I had hoped that "maverick" token was from Montana, was surprised to find out Lincoln Nebraska - Pool Hall.
