Default Sterling bottle top?

Sterling item I found today. Is it a thimble or a bottle top? I am leaning towards the top of a perfume bottle but a few people have suggested thimble. What are your thoughts? It is 21mm wide and 15mm high. It does not have any threads to be screwed onto something.

AT PRO, 20 Large cents ,Nova ,, Barber Half, 1833 Hard Times token ,"American Digger",oldest-1719 half penny,1730's one Reale Virginia half penny, couple of two centers
